Re: Aircraft you spotted today
I want to go to that airshow next year because it looks like it was an awesome show. Maybe I can arrange something in the next few years.

This is a pretty decent list for us spotters in Malta, as we rarely get any military aircraft here. And in this list I didn't mention the military overfliers we are seeing every few minutes.

If God had wanted the army to fly, he would have made the sky brown.
If God meant man to fly, He'd have given us bigger wallets.
If God had meant for men to fly he would have made their bones hollow and not their heads.

Maybe they have pulled them out for training purposes.SvenPhantom wrote:A strangely odd appearance of 4 Ah-1Ws, The airbase nearby my school operates Blackhawks and previously apaches also, so I was wondering why they were doing there. :S
Anyways...tonight while I was having "fun" on Erict server, a pair of CF-18's, heading towards Quebec, passed by, I could make out their shapes in the dark, and the noise also gave it away. It sure got all the dogs in the vicinity barking like mad

Re: Aircraft you spotted today
::EDIT:: 2nd June 2011
Today we had a French Navy Super Etendard which diverted to Malta at about 0205LT after coming back from tactical airspace.. It refused to land on the Charles De Gaulle aircraft carrier since the GBU-49 it carried failed to leave the aircraft after it was fired. At about 1100LT a French Navy Caracal heli arrived from the CDG carrier with the crew to repair the unserviceable Etendard. The Super Etendard departed at around 1550LT while the Caracal departed at 1830LT.
Also at about 1345LT, a USAF Air Mobility Command HC-130P had a fuel leak and declared an emergency after coming back from tactical airspace and proceeded back to Ramstein AFB in Germany.
::EDIT:: 3rd June 2011
2 x F-16s (still have to confirm if they are either Dutch or Danish) landed runway 13 at Luqa, Malta a couple of minutes ago (0641LT). Don't ask why yet, all I know is when I turned the radio on I heard "Poison 75, winds from 060 at 10knots, cleared to land runway 13". More info coming soon...

Re: Aircraft you spotted today
Yep they were Danish, both were armed with 2 x AIM-9 and 2 x Laser Guided Bombs (one of them only had one LGB remaining). They diverted due to the 400m visibility at Sigonella (LICZ), both departed at around 1030LT as Poison 65.Danny wrote:Danish I think.Viper wrote: 2 x F-16s (still have to confirm if they are either Dutch or Danish) landed runway 13 at Luqa, Malta a couple of minutes ago (0641LT).
