Re: Aircraft you spotted today
Got a call from awhole lotta' buddies today saying there was a Hornet flying around town. I drove 20 miles out to the airport to snap some pics.
This is "Canyon 402" from VFA-105 "Gunslingers" out of NAS Oceana, VA.

A lone Chinook going on its own to Afghanistan?!? O_o I'd think they get transported by a C-17 or C-5, it wouldn't make it on its own. Back on topic, just some regular Cessna traffic here and there.Alpha Star wrote:Just my usuall Chinook heading Afganistan. No really my town is an RAF heli turning point. 5 FT above my house they come.

The only time I've ever spotted a military aircraft outside of an airshow was a CF-18 patrolling during the 2010 Olympics here...Scarecrow wrote:SUPER HORNET!
That's what I get for living in Canada I guess. (Peace is awesome)
(I saw a C-17 at HNL once, but that doesn't count)

Wheels up landing at KHWY. Had to divert to KCJR and I'll go get it in the morning.

Scared the crap out of me and everybody else.
I could see the cargo master at the door.
The only time I see anything worth mentioning and I dont have a camera.
Maybe 100' over my apartment.
