I have a friend addicted to FSX and he said this was completely new series, rather than a new MSFS.

Yes, your friend is correct, it's a new series of flight simulation by Microsoft. It's got brand new software built into the game to give a mid-range computer good frame rates so the game runs nice and smooth. The PC I have would be classed as a high end PC so I'll be running it flawlessly but for those with mid-range computers will run it fine, I'm not too sure about low end PC's, although from the look of the trailers the graphics look amazingly good. I'm suprised no-one posted about this before, I found out about it a good 2 - 3 months ago now.

Because when everyone found out about it we were all still on YSP, and a thread is there about it.

Major addition. MSF was released Feb. 29th. So far, I'm extremely disappointed. I'm going to stick with FSX for now. The video below pretty much covers my thoughts.

That was brought up in the comments. Most agreed that was the cause and that it was kind of excessive. This plane is also in FSX which is why he used it as an example. The prop thing wasn't the deal breaker for me. It was the lack of aircraft, scenery (no more world scenery  ), and third-party ability to add to the game. I love the graphics and attention to detail but everyone was kind of hoping for an upgraded FSX instead of a game being aimed at noobs and gamers rather than pilots and enthusiasts.

Welcome to the world of online play-for-free/pay-as-you-go games. If you don't pay, it isn't nearly as much fun. If you do pay, you have to pay far more than you would have paid for an old-style, offline game. Get used to it. Now that all games are designed to be online games, it won't be long until you'll never see a game that is complete out of the box again.

Actually, it's a game.

If anyone here still wants to be able to tell your friends you fly a flight simulator and do not play video games, do not patronize this POS.

/endrant. Sorry halb. :D

On a more serious note, I sure wish someone would come out with an solid flight simulator with decent netcode. Really hoping this goes places:
