F-35B Delayed after fourth prototype had to be destroyed

Post by vandal » Tue Feb 04, 2014 7:11 pm

>>>Full story here<<<

Very shocking news.

THE PENTAGON — The military’s problematic F-35 fighter jet is facing more delays related to “software issues,”
According to Air Force Lt. Gen. Christopher Bogdan, who heads the Pentagon’s F-35 program, the delay comes at a critical time in the Joint Strike Fighter’s development cycle, but “shouldn’t take more than a few billion dollars” to address.

Very shocking indeed.

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for my signature, I can tell you I don't have one. But what I do have are a very particular lack of skills, skills I have imagined having over a very long career. Skills that make me are completely useless in any situation. If you stop reading now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't stop reading, I will look for you, I will probably not find you, and I will kill your refrigerator.

"We had to keep it on a tether after it snuck off one day. We found it three hours later, just hovering in a meadow in Fairfax, Virginia, watching bees pollinate flowers. Damned thing wanted to be a bee, too....We started implementing long, circular lines of code and unsolvable equations in an effort to keep them from ‘thinking.."

In a story that surprised NO ONE, the F-35 ran into some "bugs" that "needed to be ironed out".

Well, it's nothing a few billion dollars of cash wouldn't solve it.
Not trying to be rude here. I have nothing against Lockheed Martin. But them being born out of companies that have produced legendary aircraft in the past, surely I am expecting something better from them. Currently, as I understand it, the F-35 program is a big pile of stringy mess.

Actually, almost a year ago an Australian investigative journalism program called Four Corners did a comprehensive study on it, including a simulation of the F-35 in combat with Sukhoi SU-27 (The SU-27s won)

Here is the link for anyone interested.

Are you sure this is real? , because the whole website looks like a joke to me. But I could be very wrong though.

Let's invest in foreign technology, said Australia. The F-35 program sounds great, said Australia...

I'm just glad that Australia is so hard to invade, because the news reports paint an extremely depressing picture.

lol so much negativity here; I'll put it out there that I'm pro-JSF. There could have been far better solutions (single service programs), but there's no way they would have been equally capable, yet cheaper.

Also, to reiterate what Vandal stated *coughGennarocough* this is a fake story on the military equivalent of The Onion.

YSFHQ, meet the DuffelBlog. It's a Parady/Satirical site about military "news". Nothing on it is too be believed, it's just there to give troops and veterans a laugh.

Okay, if your going to make a CF-XX Super Arrow, your gonna need a 3 view right? I've begun work on a 3 view for the CF-XX, though I'm not going to make it's release public do to the apparent reasons of the designers posts on Facebook, I'll send you a PM when she's finished.
