Ed Force One (Iron Maiden) Repaired

Post by wingzfan99 » Wed Mar 23, 2016 4:31 pm

I noticed another topic about Ed Force One, the 747-400 used by heavy metal band Iron Maiden (who, for those who might not know, is my favorite band of all time) while on tour. Bruce Dickinson, the lead singer for the band, is also a commercial pilot and owns a very successful aviation maintenance company called Cardiff Aviation, Ltd.

A few days back, TF-AAK suffered serious damage to the #1 and #2 engines when the plane slipped/rolled out of it's tug while taxiing (the steering pin fell out, apparently).

The plane was repaired very quickly, with a massive operation, and the band posted tons of pics on their website -- thought you all might find it interesting: http://ironmaiden.com/news/article/ed-f ... e-repaired

Here's an article on the original accident: http://www.flyingmag.com/iron-maidens-7 ... d-incident
