All 3 in operation today. No 1 operated in military as strategic bombah, no 3 have a couple of series from two different manufacturers. But statistically no 2 has the most number operating, and shares almost 95% of the profit of the whole aerospace industry.

New jetliners that look the same like the old, but with new materials, cost very high and much speculative already. Old jetliners with improvements, are often require new type certificate too. Now thinking of implementing dem bomba design to airliner, or designing new multideck plane, even money laundries don't have enough money to take the risk.

Yes i'm talking about airliner. In military, you may design planes as radical as you could. Look at F-22, they might cost excessively high to develop like a decade ago, but the fact that every design group in the world tryna copy it today, shows that Lockheed Martin succeed in leading the innovations. In military, industrial perspective is a different story. If you wanna see how they raise profit, you'd better not. Dem plagiators might develop with 1/6 cost, sell with 1/6 price, and sell 25 times more.

Lyf is unfair, if you wanna make money in aerospace, better be conservative. But companies like Lockheed Martin, SpaceX, have different concept. They develop radical innovations, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others, too...

All 3 in operation today means nothing new in the choice. And in the next 50 years, the composition of airplane design would be the same, only systems inside more advanced, like the optimum point between fuel consumption and noise, more reliable flight control microchip, etc.
