^This guy gets it.
@Ruskiwaffle1991. You can still download the planes now and the map when it gets released, run a server offline and add some AI aircraft in WW2 endurance mode
This is technically a ysflight forum, but if I must answer the question...then War Thunder ain't too bad. You start out with planes just post WW1 and head into a lot of WW2 aircraft (and it's free to play). Hopefully you can run it.

Watching youtube videos does not mean you qualify for the "I can have an opinion on a game" club. Speaking as a player since 2018.Ruskiwaffle1991 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 5:00 am I know it because I watch wt videos like those of phlydaily or iron armenian

Re: Can't find a good free WWII/WWI flight sim
Aces High 3 is the best in my opinion. It costs 15/mo which is the biggest but only drawback. It usually has 20-50 ppl online at odd hours, and maybe up to 70-100 on events. I used to see 300 on their main server a few years ago. It's a game between arcade and sim, meaning you can team up with your "nation" and strategize to take bases. But you do not take off in the air and you will get outplayed by the game's vets.

And i say this because i have laptops that were part of "donations" from public organs that didnt need them anymore, and not even them managed to run something like 2012 YSFlight (even in Linux).
