I'll say you got it right, it was actually a layer of ice with bubbles underneath. Styk, you were right on the ice account, but you forgot the bubbles.

Thanks Welshy, believe it or not but I'm only using a FujiFilm FinePix S5600 D-SLR, bridge camera's aren't my favourites but they do have some really nice results.

Only got 2 here as I just bought my new Sony A390 with a Tamaron 70 - 300mm Lens.
