Weather in your area 2011

Post by Turbofan » Fri Feb 11, 2011 3:41 am

Might as well transfer this topic here. For those who don't get the idea, basically make a short post of what the weather is like/has been in your area.

Well, after yet another round of snow on Tuesday night/Wednesday (thankfully not the 12 inches predicted here), we had a bunch of record lows this morning. Officially -5F (air temp) at OKC, which shatters the old record for this date by 9 degrees, a bunch of -7Fs to -teens in northern OK, but the real pipe buster was -28F in Blackwell and a -31F in Nowata, OK. Old coldest record low was a -27F back in the early 1900s. Now that's cold for this region! Of course northern OK got dumped on with as much as 18 inches of snow, so I guess it figures, but still...

And what do you know, we'll have 60's and 70's again next week! The whacky weather continues... Not that I'm complaining of course ;)

The thermometer in my car this morning said -6 F...

Let's just say I didn't really appreciate the flat tire I got (and had to change) an hour later.

I'm in Chicago, and we had similar conditions this last week (but, then again, it only happened to us once this year... you New Yorkers... well, i feel sorry for you).

Have you ever felt the water hitting your feet is cold, while the water hitting your shoulders is hot? You know the feeling when you get out of a 15-minute hot shower and your skin was still cold to the touch?

I hate it.

my showers are about 20 minutes long and the water is hot enough to cook an egg... but I do hate that feeling of stepping out of the shower onto a cold-as-balls floor

I'm guessing the proteins in an egg will denature at the same temperature that the proteins in manjuice denature and turn into rubber cement?

Weather is going to be high 70s and low 80s for the rest of the week and probably no rain in a few months.

Weather here is not too bad today. About 9 degrees at the moment, should increase soon and the clouds are also clearing up. Quite a nice day for flying. ;)

Sunny (surprisingly for Cambridge), but cold (not so).

Lets just say that I wouldn't be surprised if the electrical activity over my head is what's causing my internet to go from 11mbps to 1.5.

At cadets earlier we were literally seeing lightning strikes from different areas probably every 20 seconds.
