That is true, but it can also have negative impacts on strength and stability (wobblying). Always use larger parts rather than smaller ones if possible as well.

Also, version 12.0 (non-experimental version) is out. It's got the Mun and whatnot, plus some glitch fixes.

Great. Now, I've gone crazy and downloaded a lot of addons. I'll get to do more stuff now. BTW, does it have multiplayer?

The only real complaint I have about the program is the rocket builder. I mean the spore ripoff part placer isn't too bad, but the tool for ordering stages is an obvious case of form over function. It's nice that it's all animated and pretty and stuff, but when your rockets are pretty complex, it's essentially just a huge pain in the ass. A zoom out for the rocket would also be nice, and maybe an orthographic view setting.

RaS: No

Shutter: Use your right mouse to drag the view around, and hold shift (or control... I don't remember) to zoom in and out. However, yes, I hate the parts menu.

For me, clicking and holding the scroll wheel in and then dragging back the mouse will also zoom out.

Another tip; when you want to move parts in the staging sequence thing, you can hold down ctrl to select multiple parts.

You, uh, don't use .exe's on Mac. You use .app's. Should just be KSP.app in whatever folder you put it in.

Awesome. After some fail rockets, 4 shuttle changes and 5 tests, got this:

After doing this pic, I got to +2500km. Ready for cargo duty.

You suck at taking screenies.

The cropping tool is your friend.

You don't need to printscreen to get a screen cap in KSP. Pressing F1 any time in KSP will automatically capture the screen (KSP program window only) and save the image in the screenshot folder inside the KSP main folder.

Or, alt+printscreen if you don't want to go through your folder structure. Whatever works really.

That's because you haven't seen my other screens.

I thought I would try it out. I like putting rockets together, but I'm not much good with math or science, so they mostly go up and come down. Then I got one into a really bad orbit where it swings way out into space and then comes within 55,000m. It is slowly dropping as I type this.

EDIT: Nope, it actually moved away from Earth on the most recent loop. I think it is hopeless. :(

I never got the hang of orbits either. Admittedly I prefer to play in full screen so can't access the oribit chart without crashing the game so no idea how quickly I should be going for orbit, I just try and go fast and end up crashing on the other side of the planet :S

You're either not going high enough or aiming right or not going fast enough (remember that the further out the orbit, the slower the orbit). Use the little green circles in the artificial horizon to your benefit. The open one is where you're going; the closed one is where you're coming from.

I'm gonna have to start playing windowed then try out the charts then. On the upside, I at least have a working ship that will get to the moon and back
