What did Santa bring you?

Post by vandal »

Ok so Christmas isn't about presents, it's about spending time with your loved ones, eating way too much of anything and everything, but presents are a huge part of the day. What's the coolest thing that Santa brought you this year? And since it's the time for giving what's the coolest thing you brought someone else?

I got a new Ipod but the coolest things are a meter wide picture/comic strip of superman and a box of Fruitloops that I haven't had since I was in the states long ago (they are not easy to get in UK and are imported to UK so cost like £8 a box). Game wise, Dirt 3 was in my stocking and waiting to be played.

In terms of giving out, the most awesome was for my uncle a techno nut was a wand from the wand company http://www.thewandcompany.com/ it's a wand that controls your TV by flicking the wand in different ways.

And for my little cousins was a cars 2 collection and a collection of Thomas the tank engine books (65)

I for one get more excited by giving presents than getting them. But hate hate hate wrapping.

I got an ipod touch 32gb which I'm using to type this out on, as well as an alarm clock dock, a small toolkit, some money and a book. Best part though would be having my 2 little brothers get a new computer, which means they and my parents no longer need to keep bugging me for mine. :D

A hand held GPS (wanted one for ages, my little boat doesn't have a speedo so it was perfect), $350 cash (wanting to buy new sails so this was a huge help), $50 book voucher and some clothes. Was a good haul this year.

Skyrim, though Steam is really freaking annoying. It says "Installing: Microsoft Direct3D" as though I don't already have it. A touch disappointed in Bethesda for chaining Skyrim to it.

I started the installation at 11:50. It finished copying off the disk in twenty minutes, then decided to download updates (something I couldn't easily circumvent). It's 12:30 now, and it's been "Installing: Microsoft .NET Framework (step 3 of 3)" for fifteen minutes. Seriously, guys? I have the game on my computer and there's this little box sitting there saying "Piss off, we need to spend twenty minutes installing shit you already have".

And now it turns out the game locks up after the Bethesda logo anyway, so there was no fucking point to all that.

Hopefully you get that issue worked out, but just for reference, those .NET frameworks, etc are newer variants.

Towels. That's it. I'm a big boy now. Meh.

The little santa in me is going shopping for bike fairings, a new muffler, and a new set of indicators soon though.
I am an accountant working full-time (and some). I'm not here as often as I would like to be. Send a message if you need me. There are a few people in the community who can get in contact with me urgently if you need - don't be afraid to ask. I just don't check here as frequently as I used to. Sorry!

I got an awesome outdoors toolset which i put to immediate use when i saw they forgot to take those electronic tag thingys off my new clothes. Very very strong saw. Cut through it like a knife through butter. And i got a ipad which is so super cool and a blackberry curve. I also gave a guitar and a new scarf to my dad.

I guess there aren't any historical wargamers (board or miniatures) around in YSFHQ besides myself?

Considering my life consists of more than just flight sims, I didn't get any joysticks or yokes.

However, I did get an MSI laptop, including BF3. Add me on Origin, name is: ThenIGotHigh

As well as some shirts, and some typical hipster shit, like vintage camera bag, a Super 8 Camera etc.
