Re: Your Internet Speed
I'm happy enough, except for the price we pay for data here ($3/GB).
What is exciting however is that at certain times of the year (generally before the start of the first academic semester of the year) the campus doesn't have it's limiters on, and so I get to play with full NBN speeds; I clocked in at 98Mbit/s down, 89Mbit/s up and when I used the wireless network around the campus, I would get a consistent 24-26Mbit/s down and up speed as well. I was amazed until they put in the limiters (to ensure everyone got even speeds).

Re: Your Internet Speed
And we pay about $40/month for 3mb/s internet. Such a ripoff, and I don't think there's any other ISPs in the area. Thanks for monopolizing, AT&T...

Re: Your Internet Speed
Never posted an update since last time i was on wireless.
This is not on ADSL2+. Line limit 24000mbps in theory. I practice, I'm getting this, which is pretty damned inaccurate it'd seem.
Fastest speed I've got using... uhhh... completely legal downloading programs... yeah, that'll do, was 2.8mb down (mega bytes, not bits). so about 22.4mbits/s. Which is not too bad at all.
Router syncs at 23392mega bits, i live about 100m from the exchange!
This house has line issues though, so it's not doing too great atm. Will move house in a fortnight, hope it fixes it!
What I am happy about, is my Ping, which appears to be even faster then the wifi in my house...

Re: Your Internet Speed
Anyway, I tried it on my mother's phone. For some reason it put the nearby server as Yogyakarta, which is in Indonesia...
God knows what happened...

Re: Your Internet Speed
Is this a dedicated host or wireless?
if neither and own home, have you reversed your lines? I hear that reversing the line inputs in the phone jack changes it so your down stream becomes up and vice versa. Results is up and down speeds flipped around.

That's the 4G speeds in Hobart this morning. Did it through my IPad with my phone set as a hotspot.OfficerFlake wrote:Dat upseed.

Re: Your Internet Speed
Fantastic speeds, but horrible reliability. Comcast should rename themselves TU-144. Drops below a Mb/s every 10 minutes or so for a few minutes, and the Up is throttled by Comcast for some reason. Great for downloading video and stuff though. (Worth noting that our power has gone out four times in the last month, but the internet has never failed.)
