I totally recommend this book. Fairly easy read and it covers the golden years of airplane innovation and growth.Taskforce 58 wrote:Besides fictional novels, try reading some non-fictional biographic style books:

Re: What books do you suggest reading?
I recommend you read Red October first, but you will find this is much better.

If you like the Action adventure books try the Novels by
Vince Flynn and the hero therein, Mitch Rapp.
They read a little like the "24" stories.

I'm not gonna lie, I just did that with the first book and I found it rather amusing.FrenchTOZT wrote:What is wrong with the twilight series? I have another one suggestion, heard of that Alex Rider series? I'm not into it much but I think other people might like it.

If you think the hunt for Red October film was good, you have no idea as to what you are missing with the book.decaff_42 wrote:Thanks for that heads up!!! I got Cardinal because my library's copy of October was out. I will hold off reading it until after reading October. How close is the movie to Hunt for the red October? As a movie it is good, but I just finished Red Storm Rising and realize that fitting so many of the key things would take a 4 hour movie.
Scale of 1-20 for sheer brilliance (10 being best):
Red October (film): 4 nice film, misses a number of key points.
Red October (book): 10, A great first book by Clancy, very detailed, will get you into looking at boomers online instead of fighter planes for a while.
The Cardinal of the Kremlin: 20 - I can't say anything, lest I ruin it for you.

I'm...kinda...offended...by that...I am a communist you know...(just ask crazypilot)FrenchTOZT wrote:What is wrong with the twilight series? I read Protect & defend by vince flynn, I like how he incorporates humor into his books. (I mean-Iranese Political Leaders watching porn? I feel on the floor laughing at that-and my stomach hurt for hours after that.)
I read warriors years ago, but...I still haven't read the fourth appretience books yet. Oh well, will catch up later.

Step 1: Instead of changing Vampire names to communist leaders, change them to capitalist leaders.GimiGlider wrote:I'm...kinda...offended...by that...I am a communist you know...(just ask crazypilot)FrenchTOZT wrote:What is wrong with the twilight series? Step 2: Instead of changing Werewolf's names to fascist leaders, change them to Terrorists.
Step 3:Change the humans into bunnies and hamsters.
Should be a better read now.

Anyway...
Reading something about learning a new skill is always dandy.
I learned how to weave baskets, so now I can weave them upside down, in the dark.
