Do you guys know some good novels filled with action? I am getting bored of reading Dan brown over and over again...so I'm looking for some new, good novels. You guys got any suggestions?

Re: What books do you suggest reading?
Finished "crocodile tears" around 1 year back...essentially finished the series by then. I read eagle strike now and then when I am bored. Though I do not understand why they put a F-15c in the front...it has nothing do do with the eagle.Sentinel182 wrote:the alex rider novels
Also, fanjet:
I heard a few people present on the hunger games books for a english movie poster-making assignment. (I chose a book about hiroshima). I thought "Hm...that sounds good, might give it a shot". Then the movie was announced (kinda ironic, we were making fictional movie posters XD) and I decided to not watch the movie NOR read the books.

Right now I'm reading Inkheart, Inkspell, and Inkdeath. Fairly good.
Loved Inheritance Cycle though. Still need to get my hands on the final book!

If you haven't,you might want to read the ''Famous Five'' or ''Secret Seven'' by Enid Blyton.I used to read them when I was about 5 or 6.
or you could just go with Tom Clancy.

Re: What books do you suggest reading?
The Commonwealth / Void sagas by Peter F Hamilton
(A very nice duo of linked stories, lasting about 5 books; first one is about humanity accidentally unleashing a xenophobic alien hivemind, the second is about a mysterious intelligent void in the centre of the galaxy that is threatening to swallow the galaxy - it's full of badass imagery and very interesting technological / scientific concepts, etc - the second saga even mixes in a fantasy side-story which is very compelling on it's own - some characters also transfer over from the first saga to the second).
Stephen King novels; I've personally actually only read Under the Dome, but I've got his "It" sitting around, waiting to be read - they're fairly mature novels, but they do engross you.
The Magician (and the novels that come after it) by Raymond E Feist - if you can break through the boring start (it took me literally about 2 weeks to get past the first ~50 pages), it promises a very colourful and interesting fantasy world.
The Halo (video game) novels - they're somewhat poorly written, but if you like the video games, you'll love the books - you should probably leave out The Flood though; it's just practically the campaign of Halo 1 written down in narrative form, with a few extra scenes and events added in.
EDIT:
Also, the Axis of Time novels are pretty cool as well, if not a tad short - it's the year 2021 and a US-led task force (US, UK, Japanese, Australian, French, German, Indonesian forces) are operating off Indonesia, fighting back an insurgency. Early into operations, a civilian / DARPA research ship (that was temporarily being escorted due to risk of pirate attacks) tests out a teleportation device (designed to deliver small explosive charges into the craniums of enemy leadership), which then promptly swallows up everything within about 1000km and dumps it into the year 1942, with most of the ships appearing right in the middle of the US fleet headed for Midway. The 1942 fleet is decimated, the future fleet heavily damaged - the future forces then have to try and integrate into a world not meant for them (note the allied German and Japanese cruisers). Even worse, some cruisers that were in the outer regions of the teleported mass get dumped around the globe, rewriting history even further. What happens in the aftermath shapes a new world.

Either way, I do recommend it - for one thing, it's got an Aussie author, so he's made sure he included us for once.

Re: What books do you suggest reading?
1. The "Warriors" series. The one about cats, yes. I read most of them 2 years ago...I think. Pretty good read, honest.
2. Dan Brown is a pretty good author too, I especially enjoy the betrayals and plot twists.
3. "H.M.S. Invincible" is great, about a submarine that gets...well, I don't want to spoil it for you.
4. "Protect & Defend" by Vince Flynn. Great read, read it in 2 days. Involves some humor, such as accusations that the Iran government watches Pornography and clinically insane terrorists.
5. "The Haijack" by Duncan Falconer. Read this during a 3-day vacation, and finished it. (Remember, I was busy during the vacation, and so I squeezed every ounce of spare time I had into reading it). Involves a suitcase bomb, and a really mad russian. Epic.
6. "Crow's War" by James Mcgee. Involves Mi-24 Hinds, a Bell 402 chopper, and a dangerous trek through Aftanisgan to evade hostile soviet troops and the Afgan Army.
7. "Resurrection day" by Glenn Meade. Currently reading that novel. Quite big, actually. Involves a very serious chemical weapon.
8. "Vulcan 607" by Rowland White. 4 words to describe: Falkland's war "Black Buck"
9. "The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo" by Larrson. No description...
10. The author Lee Child's books. I've only read two, and his stories are so far good.
11. "Hunter Killer" by Patrick Robinson. Involves lots of EXPLOSIONS. XD
12. The "Artemis Fowl" series by Eoin Colfer.
That's it for now...I'm to bored to type any more.

Yeager - Chuck Yeager's autobiography
The Big Show, by Pierre Clostermann - the WW2 diary of a French fighter pilot flying for the RAF
Thud Ridge, by Jack Broughton - Broughton was a USAF officer, and the book is about his experience commanding a F-105 wing during the Vietnam War.
