Scuttlebutt is that it was a head shot while he used a woman as meat shield.
In any case, Bravo Zulu, SEAL Six.

^Proof positive that terrorists are cowards. Good riddance to someone with only the shape of a human. Well done by the U.S. Intelligence and special operations team that got him, and also to the countless hours put in by our armed forces to keep us all safe. We still need to be vigilant and keep at it. But this is definitely a victory for the U.S.

I can see this developing into a continuation of the "9/11 is faked" conspiracy. They did DNA tests on him and buried him at sea. Those tests could easily be faked and there is no way to do others...
Not that I'm questioning them, but I'm sure some will.

Heck, US could have captured him alive, did DNA tests, have him admit on video that he is OBL, parade him through the streets of Riyadh/Islamabad/Kandahar/whatever, have other people that knows OBL well to confirm that he is indeed OBL, and still there will be conspiracy nutjobs that claim that he is a fake and not the real OBL.
As they say, "hater's gonna hate".

Although I have no doubt osama is dead as things come to light I am wondering about a few things.
1:Burial at sea means no autopsy is possible except for military personell under orders.
2:Double tap to the left side of the head does not bring to mind a firefight?
Make no mistake I have no problem with a Sub-Rosa death warrent being issued in his name I just dont like someone telling me its raining while there peeing down my leg. That version of the CIA died awhile ago?

Stealth Helicopter? Why wasn't I informed of this!? Curse you American government not telling me of awesome helicopters.

Yeah...that is interesting...but the news doesn't say a thing about a crash, just a 'hard landing'. Real or not, here are some interesting images of the tail segment of whatever that thing is...looks like an H60 of some sort. But the elevator is swept forwarding more, and has the angular edges of a stealth plane.

guess the first strike stealth capabilities are shown yet again. Problem is we can't keep the damn things flying.

This was definitely movie material:
1. Reports indicate the newish RQ-170 Polecat stealth UAV was used to relay video & provide first-on-scene live updates.
2. The crashed helicopter is apparently a stealthy modification of the MH-60, with a low-IR signature paintjob, stealthier tail-layout & rotor hubs and streamlining of something for acoustic stealth.
Projects like this have been done before, but only as prototypes or rejected concepts; this is truly a (low-level) black project come to light by mistake.
Reports also indicate that the helicopter crashed, not from enemy fire, but from a turbulence vortex generated off the 6m high compound walls, in other words, the helo stalled from it's wake.
3. The SEALs team that killed Osama were the same that rescued an american cargo ship captain from somali pirates.

Here shows some possibilities of what the help might have looked like.
