You are absolutaly correct, but you must take citizenship when offered.

You will look a lot better and less of a risk if you become a citizen first.
I am an accountant working full-time (and some). I'm not here as often as I would like to be. Send a message if you need me. There are a few people in the community who can get in contact with me urgently if you need - don't be afraid to ask. I just don't check here as frequently as I used to. Sorry!

Thanks....I hear but not sure that its true that due to the Commonwealth I can keep my UK citizenship.

As for the commonwealth citizenship agenda, I have no idea. I'm going to say no though, but don't quote me on that. ;)

In regards to the citizenship deal; we had some ADF recruiters here yesterday - here's word for word from a RAAF booklet:
To be eligible for any full-time or part-time Air Force job, you must be an Australian citizen or hold Permanent Residency Status with the intention of gaining Australian citizenship once you are eligible.

I don't think you'd be able to unless you got a dual citizenship - I'm not sure if that'd work though; you'd have to ask an ADF recruiting officer about that.
