This is a fast flowing, dynamic incident which I only see escalating

Turkish Presidents asylum request has apparently been rejected by Germany and is thought to be heading to...London...

Earlier I saw that F-16s were flying over Istanbul on the BBC, I'm guessing it was related to this.

Now we got one more "Putin" or "Stalin" in Turkey...
This solders was, maybe, last "Ataturk" for Turkey, and now turkish lost them and got dictator Erdogan

I heard an "expert" yesterday say that there were rumors that Erdogan and his supporters were the real instigators of the "coup" and used it to strengthen his position over the real military. It's an interesting theory, especially since Erdogan had the opportunity to fly in and take charge, and then have the rebels surrender to his loyalists as soon as he got back into the country. Even if it wasn't his plan, he got to look heroic.

Didn't Erdogan apologize and "make nice" with Putin a couple of weeks ago?

I doubt it U2Fly. Turkey's been a volatile country for years - In the span of 70 years, there's been about 5 attempted coups.

Exactly this fact unofficially claimed as one of the main background for military coup.

Now official turkish government claim that pilot who stricked russian Su-24 also was protestor this night, so its look like Erdogan want use this situation for back friendship with Putin

(* be carefull when read Sputnik News, because its russian progovernment massmedia)

Also here is very interesting discussion on russian blog, where are many smart people discuss this situation (try read it with google translate)

You're going to try and lecture ME on my political understanding?

I'm one of the most politically enlightened people here, if I may be so brazen (and unfortunately maybe arrogant) to say it. I take politics quite seriously in my life and to be told "You know nothing" is not only a personal slap in the face, it's arrogant to say to anyone. Let me assure you as an Australian, I am well aware of MH17 (Relevence?) and who is responsible. I don't discuss these things because THEY DON'T BELONG HERE.

You are rubbing many people on this forum the wrong way u2fly, and despite all the attempts of the administration and our members to help you, you consistently piss in our cornflakes. You need to learn to accept when you are wrong and when you are displeasing people and try to make amends for it. Hey, we tried. If you want everyone to be frustrated with you, be my guest. As far as I'm concerned, it's no great loss if we lose you. I'm in a good mood today and I'm not going to be issuing written warnings to anyone (I repeat, I personally will not issue warnings. I cannot speak for the rest of the admin team), and believe me, it's more than just you I would be considering. I myself am also partly to blame, and I would be accepting of peer review from my fellow admins.

This is going way off topic like I thought (well, knew) it would.

Again we see this problem of political threads being started when the rules on YSFHQ clearly state not to do so.

Fair warning to everyone. This stops now.
