^That's definitely weird, even for you guys.

Currently, 75F with scattered storms. Won't have to water the plants today, woot! Highs later this week will be in the mid-90s, with plenty of humidity around, especially after recent rains.

Amazingly enough, copy/paste the above for today. Only thing different about this morning's storms are the lightning strikes causing quite a ruckus around us. Hey, that rhymed! :P

After a rainy stretch of days (starting Friday last week and going into Sunday), the heat is on, albiet with lots of evapo-transpiration from wet ground and vegetation. That of course means very hot conditions. Expecting a high of around 98F today with dewpoints in the high 60s.

The hot weather will continue for the rest of this week.

It was really hot this morning. Then a fast-moving storm came down from Missouri and cooled things off significantly.

We got a sand cloud looming over Houston at the moment. It's a bit hard to breathe out there. And it's hot but not as humid. Last thing I need is feeling sweaty and sticky and dirty.

At 9:40p.m. ...

The high today was 105F with a dewpoint in the low 60s. This caused the heat index to soar into the 110s. I like hot weather but even I must admit this borders on ridiculous. The high tomorrow will be around 109F with a slightly lower dewpoint. Blast furnace anyone?

Currently 103F with heat index of 107F. Pretty sure this is the hottest day of the year so far (expecting a high of 109F).

On another note, looks like a severe weather outbreak might be brewing to our east.

Regional forecast:

WS_RF.png

Not bad temps at all, in fact they're running below average for the next seven days or so. It's shaping up to be a pretty wet August here (at least the first half anyway). We got several rounds of showers and storms the past couple of days with over an inch of rain recorded at the local Oklahoma Mesonet site. More showers/storms and potentially heavy rain is forecast beginning late in the weekend into next week for another two-three days. Definitely not the average August pattern for us but no complaints, it doesn't take much to get back in a drought in these parts. On the other hand too much rain too soon doesn't do you much good so hopefully it gets spread out like the forecast says.

We've also had some showers today, and just in time to save my garden.

Waves of showers and storms today, copy/paste for the next two days. Break on Thursday, then showers and storms beginning Friday lasting into the following Monday. The monsoon's migrated to the southern plains!

It's been quite the wet pattern from the start of August till now and still on-going. Beginning Friday last week we've been getting rounds of showers and storms, and our secondary severe weather season (yes, we usually have two of those in the Southern Plains) has lived up to its name over the weekend and into today. About four tornadoes (brief spin-ups and short-lived touchdowns) were reported on Sunday, and this morning the metro got its share of more such brief spin-ups. I woke up to very heavy rain, apparently an area of circulation passed by within 2 miles of my place, which later on produced a brief touchdown just east of a town to our NE, and several areas in "the city" up north have damage, either from straight-line winds or these brief touchdowns. Should be interesting to see what the NWS local office says tomorrow when it goes out and does the damage surveys.

We get a break for much of the day, then the cold front's supposed to come through with yet another round of storms, possibly with more such areas of shear and brief spin-ups. If we get any daytime heating things might get more interesting.

This coming weekend: remnants of Sergio!

An active weather pattern continues in our area. Had a high of 80F in the metro on Monday (officially at the airport anyway, plenty of upper 70s readings elsewhere and low 80s in the southern part of the state; Dallas had a high of 85F on Monday!).

A cold front then went through the state dropping temps by about 20F-25F. It is fall, after all. Currently 50F and light rain. More rain is forecast later this weekend into early next week.

It was a warm day here in Northwest Tennessee. At 5 PM, my parents and I went to the new Sonic in town for supper. The rain came in around 6:30 PM, just after we got home. It's been a dark and stormy night.

Expecting a high of around 70F today. Around 68F tomorrow, then temps get back into the 50s. It's the time of temperature fluctuations over here.

Severe weather expected to our east.

It's wet in northwest Tennessee, about 60°F. It started pouring down about 15 minutes before school let out. I got wet. I just ordered a rain jacket. It will arrive on Thursday. Friday doesn't look like it's going to be raining. Figures.

Looks like we've had our last warm day for a while. The Polar airmass is on its way south. After a high of 70F on Monday, we'll be in the 30s on Sunday and Monday next week, with snow possible.

So an unusual snowfall in November. Temperatures are running about 25-30F below seasonal averages. This morning we had about an inch to two inches of snow in the metro area, higher amounts out west. The ground temperatures are still plenty warm so roads were just wet, with some slick spots (bridges and overpasses).

Temps wil get back to the upper 40s to low 50s later this week.
