Sounds good. We will use this as the active thread for the HQPGAC stuff now. Thanks guys.
I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for my signature, I can tell you I don't have one. But what I do have are a very particular lack of skills, skills I have imagined having over a very long career. Skills that make me are completely useless in any situation. If you stop reading now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't stop reading, I will look for you, I will probably not find you, and I will kill your refrigerator.

Okay, I'm going to start a little work on this project to help chip in. I'm mainly going to focus on converting the 171st pack aircraft into blanks. If people want to take these and paint them...GO AHEAD. Here's a list of the aircraft I'll be blanking.
E-2C
AH-1
TA-4
Buccaneer
EA-18G
F-8
F-35 B/C
F-111B
JAS-39
Mig-35
OV-10
Rafale
Su-33
T-45
V-22

I think I'll take on the A-4, just to have a break from anything that has propellors.

Me and Dan will get to work and create HQP blanks from our A-10 Thunderbolt II, AMX and F-15 in the next gen. 323rd pack. A-10, AMX and F-15 we have features panel lines, and formation lights but no Nav/Strobe lights. Alpha, il PM you with the files once it is complete.

Edit: Due to finding out about the Tornado.

HQP:GAC Pack To-Do/About

Post by decaff_42 »

Okay, I'm bumping this because I am interested in expanding the HQP:GAC aircraft list now that my computer is aging and dying slowly.

A couple of things...
1. Is it permissible to take the 171st aircraft, blank and clean them up a bit, and then add them to the pack? If so...
2. What need to be done to them? I'm assuming that the lighting might need some work, but I do not know what specifically.

I also plan on upgrading some other GAC aircraft, so any advice or tips would be appreciated. I plan on making (if it required) custom drop-tanks for the aircraft if they use them.

1) I think so. There was a HQPGAC Gripen made by Judah14 that was converted from the 171st pack and it did not meet much opposition, so I believe crediting should suffice, although I am not entirely sure.
2) Getting rid of the squad labels and camo to blank them up, then adding the specific roundels for a specific paint scheme.

---

I also have a few questions.
Alpha Star wrote:The DAT will be the stock dat of that aircraft
As I see it in the HQPGAC pack, many, if not all of the aircraft have overpowered dats that are clearly not the stock dats. I understand some of the aircraft such as the F-16 have been "nerf-ed" in some areas such as maneuverability, but most have boosted stats in areas such as power and payload. Is this "rule" really applicable? If not, then I would have to re-write the dats for the MiGs.

I would also like to make the remaining Sukhois and clean up the Su-25, plus improving the MiGs.

Will aerobatic paints (Thunderbirds, Russian Knights etc) be allowed?

Just an aside here about .dat files. Most of them are either to overpowered or to underpowered and have wildly inacurate flying characteristic. As I believe them to be problems with the physic engine and not so much the creators of the A/C.Possably a rounding up or rounding down of digit inputs.# digit places can create a lot of error.

Two 171st aircraft blanked and I cleaned up the shading issues.

(F-35C) I combined some of the panel lines from the B and C model from the 171st.

F-14D from the 171st

F-5 E/F from the GAC pack. I am not totally fond of the panel lines. Is there someone who would like to work on the pane lines on the aircraft I convert?

I am also working on an F-111, E-2C F-15 C/D and I'm looking at a few others.

I looked back at the 171st F-35c and I noticed that I actually have the same panel lines.

I'm also moving the files into the modding team dropbox incase anyone would like to work on panel lines
