Hi all!
Since I started blender for repainting I feel more confident with 3d modelling, so I decided it's time to start making my YSF dream come true:
Aermacchi MB339 PAN

Good luck on this one Davide, YS needs a MB-339!
Here's a photo I took at RIAT last month.

Actually, there's already an MB339 but I have this fixation to do it from scratch...
Can't see your picture now, due to proxy server policies...

I was planning on doing a SF-260 of the same manufacturer! I wish you a lot of luck with the aircraft, and you just made me more enthusiastic too!

I'd love to see your progress!

Here's the progress... today I made the fuselage (I'll separate the canopy later)
Are there too many poligons? I also hope that the YS's graphic engine will forgive me because I had to make some "guess" in the cross sections, so it's a little "bulky" when looking at it in the solid mode...

Yes, I'm planning to do it detailed, but I don't really know how much detailed without being too laggy. You know, they're 10 of them! Is there any standard to follow to say "this is an high quality plane"?

Nope you make it as detailed as you want. I mean look at Lordflash's Vulcans they are super detail.

If you need a subtle indication:
Birdfarm F-16C blank (Animal): 722 Faces
RNAF_NF-5 (YSMajor's repaint): Around 4000 faces.
PIAGGIO_P.180_AVANTI (from Tasforce 58): around 8000 faces.
BOEING_CH-47_CHINOOK_HC2_RAF (Lord Flash): Almost 35000 faces.
Good luck with your aircraft, and it looks great so far!

Wow! Well... not
that detailed...
I'm still working on the fuselage as I realized, looking at some pictures, that I made the shape of the exhaust nozzle wrong...

Most of Lord Flashhearts detail was in the cockpits.I dont think you will find more detailed cockpits any where in Ys that will actually work on a server as long as he was the only one flying.

Rear part of the fuselage re-done. Canpoy needed extensive re-shaping because the bottom borders are straight and in the previous model were rounded, so I totally re-did the canopy and modeled the fuselage again. Vertical stabilizer and rudder added.
The canopy is separated from the fuselage, but it stell need the opening cut and transparency. i'll do it at the end. Hope you enjoy!

Ahahaha I don't know if you're talking about some artistic talen or what...
The problem is that sometimes, searching for pictures of the plane, I look at some of them and I realize that I "misunderstood" some shape of the fuselage, so I have to get back on it... I want to do it good!

Allright... I had finished wings and elevator when I realized something was wrong with the shadows, so I'm getting back and I'm also re-doing the vertical stabilizer and rudder from scratch.
A note for the wing: after some researches, I discovered that the Mb.339's wing profile is a NACA 64A, so I drown it on blender using a picture I found with google... here is a close view on it. And, I'm using the same profile (just scaled and made thinner) for elevator and vertical stabilizer.
