Kinda scary how much larger this map is going to get before it's done. YSF doesn't handle these larger maps very kindly.
Yep, USA map. Perfect example.

Yeah, You are a lot faster than I am in the mapping department,
I'll be lucky to be done with Palawan when you get done with the rest.
I'm pretty sure by the time we get done adding it in
we will see a whole lotta shakin' goin' on.

So I played YSFlight on the highest settings possible and also turned everything in my graphics card's control panel to full and still managed to get 30 Fraps. This map is big but it doesn't have bad framerates. At least on my computer.

How about we try running it on a server and get a lot of people online?

I just downloaded this for the first time - the map runs really smoothly for me, I'm getting 64FPS on D3D. ;)

Just flying between airports I can see a lot of hard work has gone into this, I hope the members who originally made the request are grateful for all the hours of hard work.

Thanks, now time to do some exploring. I'm looking forward to doing some online flight if someone runs it on their server.

Thanks Danny.

On my mac, I get shaking on any map larger than about 500x500km. This is roughly 10x that right now....sooo...Yeah you get the idea.

Tried it on my other computer which is your average computer for the casual computer user, 3 GB RAM, Pentium 4, Nvidia 6600, and Running Windows 7....

IT SUCKS

15 Fraps at max in D3D. The shaking was bad too. Don't get me started on OpenGL. I tried running it on lowest settings possible and then it managed to max out at 25.

Like I've said, it's a big map. It's probably going to react like the Tri-angle map that Gunny made hawaii, LAX, Kodiak. Big and shaky.

I choose to call it turbulence ;) But I really don't get all that much shake more like a little shimmy and over the open ocean I don't get anything so it must be Kilauea acting up. :D

I'm seeing 30fps, no shaking... but I'm also running an 8-core CPU w/ 16GB of RAM and a 2GB graphics card... so don't take my word for it.

I'm surprised how every server admin isn't running this map on their server.

Okay, don't kill me for not updating for a month, but school, life, and muse, yada yada yada...

NAVYGATOR IS DA MAN!!!

He simply blew my mind with the 5 sections he's done. Amazing quality and workmanship went into these section people. You better grovel at his feet.

With this contribution, the map stands at 39.6% complete. WOOO HOOO
A grand total of 350,000 square kilometers.

Da New Stuff by Gator:

Over all view of the map. Pardon the tags. (Anyone know a way to hide those?)
I removed the dark blue color, as it is simply assigned the ground color, and those large polygons are not needed anymore.

-- Thu Nov 22, 2012 7:24 pm --

I think that NB-51-2, NB-51-5, NB-51-6, and NB-51-9 should have insurgent camps scattered around them because that is the main area of Abu Sayyaf. In fact, the city of Jolo in NB-51-5 is the headquarters of Abu Sayyaf and should have a central compound with a few AAAs and 1 or 2 SAMs. People willing to do military missions can go down here with their military stuff and try to take out the camps and the main base. That way this map has a feature Legit Hawaii doesn't have and therefore Philippines will be moar awesomer.
