Animation Issues.

Post by Philster » Wed Feb 08, 2012 5:20 am

Well, importing and exporting from blender a billion times isn't the best thing to do. It's caused a few errors with the animation that I'm having trouble fixing.

The model I'm using is Takaty's 737, which has a lot of animations. The first issue I've run into is with the planes tail. Whenever I activate bomb-bay, it looks a bit strange.

As you can see, two separate meshes are appearing at once, causing the blurriness in the tail.

The next problem I have have run into is a bit stranger.

It's a mixture of events. This is when I activate bombay, have the gears down, and pass around 30 knots.

Right now, I have no clue how to animate anything in ysflight(can't seem to find a good tutorial). It would be great it someone could fix it for me, but the chances of that are unlikely. Would it be possible for someone to explain how to disable the bomb-bay function? That's the main source of the issue, so getting rid of it should solve my problems.

You can use Notepad and find the "CLA 9" line and change it to "CLA 0", or go through DNMViewer.

Okay, we do have some documentation on animation. Yes, it's not flawless and yes I should probably get to work on that. My bad. Lemme dig up them links in a bit.

http://forum.ysfhq.com/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=2376#p29861 should give you an idea... Damn this is annoying. Guess I really need to write something up. Your bomb bay CLA is most likely the parent .srf to the gears and you didn't see your whole dnm tree in blender which fucked up the anims. Not sure, but it was probably that.

I guess I should probably do up a tutorial on using dnmviewer some time; in my experience, dnmviewer is the easiest way to animate and get coordinates for weapon hardpoints, cockpit positions, etc; I've also got like... 1? trick I could lend out lol (having all .srf's a child of a single blank .srf, allowing you to adjust how the plane turns in YSF and also allowing you to quickly move the model around for a close look).

I believe the Takaty 737 uses the bombbay door commands to toggle the lighting (cabin window lights and tail logo illumination flood lights).
