NightRaven's Shed

Post by NightRaven »

One day I decided to stop spamming the "Current Projects" page and decided to make updates to my projects here.

So here's what I made so far... it's not a lot, really...
A repaint of a MiG-29K and an E-3.
Image
Image
And a scratch model, the GAF-1 Varcolac. Wanted to mod from the dawn of time.
Image
Currently I'm working on the GAF-1, and after consulting Decaff's tutorials here, I have made it somewhat better.
Transparent cockpit added.
Image
Double cannons, anyone?
Image
And better burners.

Very nice but how are you spamming a topic that's solely created for this stuff? lol

It's just a bit weird seeing myself as the only one spamming updates on my stuff and the rest only posting once or twice. A bit awkward for me...

Well...
After failing to put the gears in Blender (I gave up on gears then), I put them in the right place with dnmviewer.
Image
And made the burners glow in le dark.
Image
Next to do...
1)Make gears disappear as soon as it enters the fuselage (or make it twist another way), it's weird to see the gear suddenly appear in the cockpit.
2)Add landing lights.

Making the gear go the other way is probably going to be a better bet. Without playing with the model I can't say for sure, but that is probably a safer route than trying to fiddle with the animations, but i encourage you to try both ways to see what happens. Experimenting like this is always going to improve the comunity and modding knowledge.

Couldn't post for the past week due to exams. Well, I'm back.

Added flares. This was made by myself.

That is all.

However, for some reason, the gear animation screwed up. Gonna try and fix it soon.

Fixing of animations on the way! :)
I've only managed to fix the nose gear. The main gears will follow soon.

And now it's got a better cockpit.

The control panel could use a little size increase, though. Looks too tiny IMO. Other than that, keep it up!

Nah, they're fine.

After I add the landing lights, this low-poly model will be complete, and I will move on to another model. I may make another, higher definition model in the future, but I need more experience.

EDIT #1:
DNMViewer ain't working, and I can't put the lights in. Apparently the srf is like the Contrailer dnm, where it is, well, nothing.
Help.

EDIT #2:
Gave up on DNMViewer and positioned the srf in Blender. Now the only problem left is to make it have the landing lights animation (default key 'i'), but DNMViewer doesn't have that CLA.

THe CLA you want is for navgation lights, Look at the 30's for CLAs on the YS Wiki. I agree that lighting is not easy, but it should work for one of those guys.

NightRaven you only insert and position the lights in the viewer. The CLA's are added in notepad.
NOTE: Do not close out DNMviewr after saving as or you will lose your data.Save and minimize it and then open the .DNM file in notepad then add your CLA's to the appropriate entry's.When you are done doing that then save in notepad.
Then close notepad and maximize The DNMviwer to confirm you changes have taken effect. If yes than your done.If not try again.

Looks like a wrx/r34 hybrid.
I am an accountant working full-time (and some). I'm not here as often as I would like to be. Send a message if you need me. There are a few people in the community who can get in contact with me urgently if you need - don't be afraid to ask. I just don't check here as frequently as I used to. Sorry!

Restarting the meshes for the R34 to make them more high detailed. The current mesh that I have is too boxy.

Will post screenshots when I make it more R34-body-like. It's gonna take a while.
