I do believe Helgoland has been ousted from its place as most grid-ified map.

Looks like something from Ace Combat 03, which is a funny coincidence; I've been working on an RC model from AC03.
That looks pretty good.

Is that a complete scratch build? I think I see some f-22 in the nose. Looks like a really interesting plane. :D

That's the YR-302 Fregata from Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception. Passed that game in all difficulties and paths, a really great game. And I have seen this guy's work before, have seen his Deviant. He even has a Gleipnir.

Just to let you guys know that DIF is not dead. I'm still working on a few more aircraft for the next batch, which will cover the later part of the Pacific War:

completed -
FM-2 Wildcat
F6F Hellcat
F4U Corsair
SB2C Helldiver
A6M3 / A6M5 variants of the Zero
J2M Raiden (Jack)
D4Y2 / D4Y3 Suisei (Judy)

in progress -
N1K1 Shiden (George)

planned (but not guaranteed!) -
B6N Tenzan (Jill)
Ki-45 Toryu (Nick)
Casablanca class escort carriers and Butler class destroyer escorts ground objects (I want to make a simple map with the entire Taffy-3).

I'm also upping the model standard of DIF to include transparent canopies (with a black shadow cockpit) and propeller blurs. Plus they need to be updated to the current YS standard so that each can utilize custom visual models for weapons and fuel tanks. These updates takes some time and will not be all done in the same DIF update.

I accidentally overwritten it with something else, so it's gone. Besides, my new map (Geneva AFB) looks a lot like it.

Dat nose is from the F-22, isn't it? Many models derived from GAC fighters are usually from the F-22, and modders hardly modify its nose.

For the FREGATA, it is an original model not based on 2ch models. The Qaher is based on the nose of the Raptor with the modified body of the F-35 (modified as taken from another model that I am working on).

I guess it really depends on how dedicated you really are to map - making. ;)
