All bombers should be yellow. :D

I decided to put Hispaniola off and do some more smaller islands. I may have this done tonight or tomorrow. I just need to make the airports and some ports.

I can now load a single polygon from a SRF file.

Polygons with more then 3 vertecies defines aren't supported yet. I'll get it sorted soon.

In other news, YSFHQ is loading really really slowly.

Earlier, I was seeing if I could put my Knife Tool to the max. Now it looks like I can put some nice curves on other models.

Nice lines, Dt.

Here is my progress so far on my Project: CARIBBEAN. Things to do: more of the US east coast, Cuba, Hispaniola (already started), complete leeward islands and windward islands, northern coast of South America and other islands. The US East coast shouldn't take but an hour at most. Cuba and Hispaniola will take a few days each, since I'm only going to do a handful of airports for them. From there, I'll do the other islands a few at a time as I've been doing. My estimation is that this should be complete by the end of 2032.

I hadn't planned on it, although right now I'm more concerned with all these islands. So many islands. I've really not planned to add any airports to the US mainland other than Miami International, but when I get all the islands finished I might fill in some areas of Florida. I guess I could make a rocket ground object and the facilities.

By the way, this is a 1:1 scale map.

Yes.

It is difficult to translate a 3D globe into a 2D map, but using an image from Google Maps that is where it is.
BARRACUZ wrote:Is Cuba gonna be all in iff4?
All of it but Gitmo. I plan to do a detailed Guantanamo Bay.
BARRACUZ wrote:Are there gonna be missiles and stuff?
Probably.

Now loading SRF files completely.

NOT supported are special tags like ZG or ZZ - they only have a use for YSFlight and I have no intention of implementing this.

I will add support for ZL lines soon - that shouldn't take too long.

ZA lines already supported.

Next step is load ZL and then I will make a DNM loader.

I haven't been able to figure out where the detention buildings are located, so it probably won't be that detailed.
BARRACUZ wrote:And cocaine boats?
Well, some of my life raft ground objects would be handy.
BARRACUZ wrote:Pot fields?
I doubt it. Then again, I haven't used my farm equipment ground objects since Jamaica. ;)

In other news, I finished the green part of Hispaniola and started adding the beaches. This is going to take a while, and Cuba is a lot bigger.

-- Sat Sep 13, 2014 12:12 pm --

I finally finished the map elements of Hispaniola. Now I just need to add elevation grids and some airports. I used two shades of green for the two nations that are on the island. Haiti is on the left and the Dominican Republic is on the right. I did this to make it easier for everyone to know when they cross the border.

Pretty awesome Patrick. A 1:1 scale map - now that will make for some long flights!
