Fictional XP-67 with jets and v-tail. Managed to make this one in only a couple of hours.

Looks like a 21st century version of the Navys panther jet from the 50s. ;)

VERY Sleek... and sultry.
Might look even better in a group formation.

There is no PIA A321 for YSF so I am making one the only thing left now is the green stripe I've already cut the poly's for it everything else is in place.
Also cutting the polygons for the stripe was HELL

Dat XP-67 looks to me more like a modern, re-upgraded U-2 on steroids. I approve this.

-1. If an aircraft call out tree (in the aircraft.lst) is set up right, you ONLY see the cockpit for the aircraft if you are IN that aircraft.

There are a few people in the community who can get in contact with me urgently if you need - don't be afraid to ask. I just don't check here as frequently as I used to. Sorry!

The shape is based off the real xp-67: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McDonnell_XP-67

Nothing to do with a u-2 really. Mcdonell's early fighters are all pretty neat IMHO, but the moonbat also has this sort of crazy exoticness I like.

Lol it really existed. And it used props instead of engines. Wow.

Well, I said I was doing a small map and here it is, in its developing form.
This is Tern Island, located in French Frigate Shoals, about 550 miles NW of Hawaii. The only landing strip between Hawaii and Midway. Built in 1942-43 in a bid to keep the Japanese from using the same area. Utilized now by the Hawaiian & Pacific Islands National Wildlife Refuge Complex.
A ranger station occupies the former Coast Guard buildings, and is occupied by small groups of researchers.
The runway continues to be used for occasional personnel transfer & supply flights.

This is from overhead:

This one is from about sea level:

Almost on approach:

And one with a Twin Otter ready for Take-off, for scale:

I tried to get the sizes pretty close to the real thing, the Island is less than 3100 ft long and 400 ft wide. I'll continue to add to it in stages. It'll be a good beginners project.

Thanks for letting me know that Mr. Shutter. That means there is also
the chance that you are not familiar with Johnston Atoll. That is the next
step upward in size for single-strip airport-islands. Located 717 nm WSW of
Oahu, and 450 nm south of French Frigate Shoals, It was officially shut-
down in 2003. Here is a shot of that that one as well. I was kind of
planning on going there next (as a map project I mean). Too bad a hurricane
or typhoon hit it in 2006, it took away most of what was left of the few
buildings that are still standing in this image. And for scale, that runway
is 9,000 ft long and maybe 250-300 ft wide (I'm still looking for that info).
