[IMPROV] BNI Pack 2 - Hi-Quality Low-Detail Weapons

Post by Iceman »

Presenting..

Image

The idea of this pack was to create a pack of weapons that follows the GAC standard of being high-quality but low-lag models. Each weapon is incredibly low in file size yet incredibly high quality and almost up to the standard that other models of weapons are, and done up BNI style. Enjoy.

Hmm...
This will make air combat more realistic, in terms of appearances anyway.

How do we use the rocket pods?

the rocket pods are just the static model for the rockets. In flight, the model is the rocket's model. You don't need to do anything but drop it in your misc folder.

Thanks. Can you have certain model missiles for certain planes?

I have a few models in my "unfinished" folder where I put aircraft specific weapons on there. Problem with that is that they will be visible even when the weapons have been used up.

In the pack, you'll find the names of weapons. In each folder with the name of a weapon are a bunch of files named like bomb.srf.

What you need to do is choose a weapon in each category and then copy the files into the misc folder in your YSF directory.

So for example for my short range AAM, I'll choose the model of the R-60, which is a Russian AAM.
So, I open up the zip file, find the folder named "r60" and then I'll copy the 2 files inside, "aim9.srf" and "aim9s.srf" and paste them inside of the "misc" folder inside the YS Flight main directory.

If you copy all the folders in the zip and just paste them into the misc folder, nothing will change - you can't have all of the different models at once, so you need to choose.

I personally have 2 folders named "USA" and "Russia". In my "Russia" folder for example, I have the bombs and missiles of the Soviet Union / Russia. If I'm making a video or taking a photo on YSF and I'm using Russian aircraft, I'll copy the contents of the Russian folder and paste them into the misc folder, overwriting everything.
Then when I want to do some US / NATO action, I simply overwrite all the misc folder files with the files in my USA folder - it's much faster than having to go through all the different folders.
