So I'm almost down with the new console, it also has a menu bar which will in time be functional.

Hey Flake I'm not exactly sure but I think the IRC is broke. I'm assuming Pat's IRC channel ID is still #OpenYS, but of late I've noticed that xertion.org gives me a channel not found error. I'm not too sure if it's something on Pat's end or the server itself.

OYS showed no problem making the connection to IRC at startup, so I don't know what's going on.

EDIT: I restarted OYS (X out and restart) and it connected to IRC and works fine.

Pat maybe you should try connecting from the IRC client, not just checking from within OYS itself, because I'm getting this error now. It's weird because I've gotten it to work on my phone before.

I have no control over the IRC server/channel itself. OYS just joins #OpenYS as a client. It looks like it doesn't stay connected, because I logged in through Chatzilla and my server is not in the client list now. Something strange is afoot.
----------------
After further testing, nothing posted on the OYS console or by a YSF client is sent to the IRC channel, but messages posted in IRC are sent to OYS and YSF clients.

You have to understand everyone on here who contributes has other duties and life to deal with so responses will rarely be immediate but they will respond in a timely matter. Plus modders and contributers like flake do not receive any compensation for any of their work so be considerate of that and grateful of everything they have done so far.
Just be patient and youll have someone help you.

For what its worth, what version of YS are you running?

You're welcome!

I don't exist to serve you.

Are you using the latest version? And if so, what locale is your pc set to (English US, Indonesia, Japan etc.)?

By respawn do you mean you are using the respawn command? You should start back where you were when you left, correct? I honestly can't tell what you mean for sure.

Do not be mad at me O.Flake. If you take my post as aggression - I'm sorry, but not in this my goal.

Just I fight the already considerable amount of time and I'm on the verge of resignation.

I just want to let you know about a small technical problem, because I want to help improve your very cool firmware to YSF where I see really great potential.

I'm using the latest version of YS and OpenYS. No mods.

For example.

I run the server on SMALL_MAP. After logging in, select the type of aircraft and the start position - my plane did not have fuel.

Gliding on the afterburner turned on - wanes fuel from the storage tank, however, it is not possible to use a jet engine, which is simply turned off.

The starting position is read correctly. At AOMORI, HAWAII join or respawn ends with the crash at the start between a collection of ground facilities.

My system is Win7 64bit. Polish version, because I'm Polish. Firewall and antyvirus (Baidu) is disabled. NetFramework 4.6 now.

The tests were done via the Internet (with a friend), and on the LAN. Unfortunately, in both cases, we had the same recurring one problem: always lack of fuel.

AOMORI, HAWAI - it was impossible to join the server without a crash at the start.

When I switch to BOMBERS only - i type here working planes with fuel on SMALL_MAP:

AIRBUS300
AIRBUS330
B-2 SPIRIT
B-52
B737
B747
B767
B777
B29
CONCORDE
DIAMOND_ECLIPSE
G4M
LANCASTER

But crash on start problem still exist on other maps.

When I put the server using ysflight32_nownd.exe - there are no problems. All join, have the fuel. Startup items are not ignored and everything is working properly.

That's all. I do not know what the problem. I watched a movie about the configuration OpenYS and used ALSO exactly your settings but the problem still exist OfficerFlake. I have on this map only 2 ground object also ;-/

Greetings.

WARDC_sOnar wrote:My system is Win7 64bit. Polish version, because I'm Polish.
That may be what is causing issues. I might change my PC's localisation to Polish for a bit and give it a test, see what I can come up with.

By the sounds of your errors, it seems like some capitalisation method is not location insensitive. Because of this, each country / localisation has different rules as for how to handle capitalisation, numbers etc. presentation. I need to use a standard format.

Because your program is not acting like mine internally with the string conversion methods, the program is giving weird effects where these strings are not converted to numbers correctly, the numbers default to zero. This is why you start with no fuel, gliding. This is why the ground objects are in random places.

So yeah, let me look into this and I'll do my best to solve for you :)

You were right OfficerFlake. I tested to change the zone and it worked. However, such changes zones are bothersome for the users. I hope that you will deal with this problem. I'm counting on you very very much ;)

Flake is like like a superhero. He can do amazing things, but he is only one person and his real world alter ego has a day job and another life.

But yes, we are all patiently waiting for his next amazing product and appreciate everything he has done for us all.

Also, like Superman in one of the movies, he removes nukes.

Quick question for you, Office Flake.
When I try to use the YSRadar server with OpenYS I get the message shown in the screenshot below (the bottom window being the YSRadar server).
Image
Is this me screwing it up or just something that won't work with OpenYS period?

Thanks in advance for your time!
