AutoHotKey program running "Endurance Mode"

Post by C P » Sat Nov 07, 2015 7:11 pm

Were you a fan of Endurance Mode on the FunHouse Server?
So far it hasn't been carried through on OYS, and I haven't asked if it will.
I've always thought of making an automatic or self-running client version.
One idea was to hire a trained monkey to push the "E" key periodically.
But then what if he took up smoking ... and burned the house down.
Another idea was an auto electro-mech finger.
Through solenoids and timers it too could push the "E" key while I was AFK.
But that kind of arrangement tends to get cloogy.

Then I stumbled across a key pressing program called AutoHotKey.
It appeared to do what I want, is free, and even has extensive scripting capability!
It runs similar to the Sequencer on Officer Flake's OYS settings.dat page.
So I played around with it for a few minutes and came up with some simple script
to solve the problem at hand.

The result is 24/7 automatic unattended running and resetting Endurance Mode
on the FunHouse Server! It's set for only 5 minutes of play now until the bugs are out.
So, come on by, load up your 14 missiles and spam away like a newbie! It's still fun today!
(remember that Endurance Mode requires a victim to hit the "J" key for enemy planes to spawn)
Also, an enemy plane could be anything in the cache, like the Enterprise for instance.

This AutoHotKey program is very powerful and conjures up many applications for YSFLIGHT!

Sorry about the monkey thing... But I think I'll drop by as a "victim". ^^

Thanx...ya, the elecro-mech finger probably wouldn't have worked out either. It's not the kind of thing you would want to get loose and find wandering the hallways at night! ... lol...stop by anytime...(no one else has yet).viewtopic.php?f=236&t=8161&p=92158#
