[PROGRAM]Lifes A Beach!

Post by Flake »

Don't you just hate tracing shores in scenery editor by hand? and then you can never get the gradiant angles right and it ends up looking like your old aunty gail after a few glasses of wine on thanksgiving?

Well, fret no more!

I have coded a beach generator to save you all those countless hours of frustration!

Using Scenery editor and this simple program, just create a motion path, looping or not to taste, and give it the tag "BEACH".

Save your FLD and plug it into my program, and look in awe at your new perfect beaches!

I spent all afternoon coding this program for you all because, let's face it...

...Life's a beach.

THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH CHILD SCENERIES! - too add to maps with existing child sceneries, make a new map with your isolated areas and then merge the two!

Great job, man! I hope many other scenery mappers into this program because it seems really helpful to me. Been testing it out and it's awesome :)

I might add: Shores go OUT if the path is CLOCKWISE, and IN if it is COUNTERCLOCKWISE.

And that is negated if you use a NEGATIVE shore distance!

The download link appears to be broken - Mediafire gives an 'Invalid or Deleted File' message.

OK...

Now whenever I try to open it, Windows instantly throws the error, "LifesABeach has stopped working".
I've tried compatibility mode for various versions of Windows coupled with administrator privileges, but it makes no difference. Also, I noticed in the file details it says the 'original' name of the file was "Png2Srf.exe" - if this helps.

I just used Png2Srf as a base, but yeah this is a different program.

Works fine on Win 7 x64 here and can't see any reason why it shouldn't seeing as the program should open fine and it's only when you run a process should it potentially be bugged. At a bit of a loss as to how to help solve. I assume you have .Net 4.0+?

Is it possible recreate "Lifes A Beach" using Python?

U.S. Senator John McCain wrote:“Spending #NewYearsEve w/ brave #Ukrainian Marines at a forward combat outpost
- we stand w/ them in their fight against #Putin's aggression”
