[DEC 8] YSFlight Royal International Air Tattoo (UKAA)

Post by TB1 »

As 2013 draws to a close, UKAA would like to welcome you all back to RAF Fairford for our annual YSFlight Royal International Air Tattoo, this year held on the 1st of December. The show will be a great opportunity for the whole community to come together, new and old, to celebrate the skill and dedication of our performers. The airshow is unofficially international (we wouldn't want to steal the spotlight off YSAA) so all aircraft and all members from all over the world are encouraged to come and perform or just watch your mates and fellow countrymen perform. This year, the show is the day before my birthday so I want it to be extra special! As I end my 8th year playing YSFlight, I really want to thank the community by making this the best show we've ever put on!

This is a UKAA event but we want the whole community to get involved even if you're not performing, So, If you want to help UKAA out in any way, be it an improved poster, music or narration, contact TB1 directly via PM.

We're doing something a bit new this year by having a mass dogfight (just for fun!) before the show this year. The server will be on and anyone can come on and try and pit your skills against other pilots!

Fair enough. I announced it early so that people knew that it was happening so they could get some practice in.

Looking forward to getting your registration!

If you can shift it back to accommodate people like me and DD-Destroyer, maybe I can attend.

I was thinking like say, 1.00 pm GMT.
That would mean 9pm here in Singapore, and 10pm in Korea (if I got the timezone right).

Not a bad idea, does mean serious issues for people in Western America though. What about 3pm GMT?

Do we have that many users on the West Coast? There seems to be more +GMT than -GMT, ironically. http://forum.ysfhq.com/viewtopic.php?f=137&t=2285

Anyway, this looks good. Hopefully I can come check it out.

Yeah possibly, I also need to make sure I've got good timings for the Australian and Pacific contingent especially as Flake is the HAVA demo pilot. I'll try and make the timings good for everyone but it may not be possible.

Latest 2pm GMT. But if possible, please put it within around 1pm GMT.

I started AirFest around 1430 GMT and that seemed to do well in attendance. I've done a lot of research and querying to find a time like that that suits the majority of people that can attend. Basically, your window for max worldwide attendance is right between 1330 and 1500 GMT. Best around 1400 if possible. This pretty much only excludes those who live in Hawaii or any of the mid-Pacific islands . . . which we may have only a handful at best. Otherwise, the western Pacific rim people can go in the first half of the show, then those waking up on the west coast of the Americas will be waking up and ready by mid-end of the show. Everyone else is within their day already. BINGO!

This is quality advice VNAF, thank you,

That settles it as far as I'm concerned, unless anyone has any serious objections, the show will start at 2.30pm GMT!

I typed 'F-15C' in the demo name, it's just 'YS IAF F-15 Demo' cause I fly the two seater IAF F-15's too.
