"Realistic" tank tracks(treads)!
my idea of making tank treads. I'd managed to create treads based on CLA22 , so
they move faster or slower according to speed of a vehicle. It's just a visual illusion
based on neat trick , but it looks very realistic from a distance. I'd experimented
with different color combinations and find that black and white creating most stable
illusion. I'm posting a zipped video file here and a blend file. Blend file was made with
Blender 2.49 , so it might not work with newest Blender versions.
Sorry for low quality video , but my desktop recorder cuts out half of the frames.

FTR, in "BlenderArt" #11 magazine published «Amateur Mechanism» article by Erick Ramirez, where described now to create a chain in Blender 2.4x. UPD: In "BlenderArt" #19 magazine published «Caterpillar Soft Track» by Alain Mathez (aka 'McBlyver') tutorial for Blender 2.48. Later 'McBlyver' updated his tutorial for Blender 2.49 on own website:
U.S. Senator John McCain wrote:“Spending #NewYearsEve w/ brave #Ukrainian Marines at a forward combat outpost
- we stand w/ them in their fight against #Putin's aggression”
