Issues Installing the 20181124 version on Windows

I downloaded the latest version of YSFLight.
I noticed that the latest stable version had no installer (setup.exe file). I copied all the files to Program Files/YSFlight.com. That's the directory in which older ones install to.
But, I feel having a setup file would be better.
Because, the latest version was glitching. Sometimes, It crashes when I try to load a flight in a large map (like USA48 for example). The Direct3D option doesn't even run. It starts up, loads files then crashes after playing the demo.
When you choose Landing Practice mode, it disables you Keyboard/joystick control settings and reverts to default key assignments for that mission.
Are other users experiencing similar issues with the latest version too?

I have an intel Core i5-8250U (with Intel UHD graphics 620) with NVIDIA GeForce MX150. So, I think my hardware is good enough

Almost no one uses the latest stable build.

The military guys generally use 2015 and the aerobatics guys 2012 (they have different network code). The civilian lot is generally more flexible, mainly due to Pat using OpenYS to run the CivAv server.

I would just recommend downloading one of those two depending on what you do most.

So don't get the latest version? Which version number should I get if I want to mainly do civilian?

Like welshy said, for civ, there is more flexibility but 2012 or 2015 are recommended for stability and flexibility. some servers run OYS which works with both 2012 and 2015 versions, but others will not run with OYS and thus you can only connect with the netcode version that the server is using, but 2012 and 2015 are the most likely versions to use.

Personally I like 2015, but other people like 2012. It is up to you to figure out which works best for your machine.

For best compatibility with existing servers, 2015. It can have a mild performance hit compared to earlier versions, but that tends to be affected a lot more by your hardware and .exe choice. 2015 does kind of mess up helicopters, but that can be fixed manually

Actually laughable that the 2018 version runs so badly. You'd probably get a better framerate running Microsofts new flight sim lol

Really hope to see more people from this community make the jump to MSFS with that smoooooth netcode.

I have to point out that the latest build has better looking graphics though
That's why I use it. The smokes and clouds are more realistic. Just wish it will run smoother
