[LINUX]How to get YSFlight Server running on Linux?

Post by Nodoka Hanamura » Fri May 09, 2014 7:50 pm

I'm going to make this brief. I've bought a VPS for the Grun Squadron so i can set up a Server for 24/7 operation. So far, i've gotten the program on the VPS, but it's missing some prerequisites. Anyone know what I need?

Not unless you post error messages telling us.

YSF is written in C++, should not need anything else.

If you are using Linux be sure you have Wine and OpenGL support I guess?

Those more LuxSavvy will be able to help here.
I am an accountant working full-time (and some). I'm not here as often as I would like to be. Send a message if you need me. There are a few people in the community who can get in contact with me urgently if you need - don't be afraid to ask. I just don't check here as frequently as I used to. Sorry!

As I posted here http://forum.ysfhq.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... 999#p74482, all you need to do is cd to your YS directory (e.g cd /home/varren/Desktop/Ysflight) and then run ./ysflight-consvr in terminal. YS requires nothing else to run.

As Flake said, if you're having any specific errors, post them here.

I tried to get help from Varren or MR several days ago, we didn't know what to do, anyone want to help with this?:

Code: Select all

[email protected]:~/Ysflight# ./ysflight-consvr
./ysflight-consvr: error while loading shared libraries: libgomp.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I've installed multiple packages from GCC, and also tried a RPM not on the Repository. what's causing this issue!?
Version is Ubuntu 13.04 running the GNU/Linux 2.6.32-19-pve x86_64 Kernel.

I've never seen that error before... perhaps a fresh install of ys with no addons? Check to make sure port 7915 is forwarded, if it isn't already. Other than that, I'm not sure. I use Linux Mint and it runs the client fine. Perhaps I'll try to run a server today and post my results.
