Toggle Tail Lights?

Post by Richard Vo » Sun Feb 14, 2016 3:13 pm

How can I turn on the tail lights and does it apply on all aircraft?

The A380 is ahead of its time. With the resilient passenger traffic growth for times to come (reference from Airbus's Global Market Forecast), plus congested airports, the A380 could not be ignored.

Default key should be "i". It should apply to all stock aircraft, however, some downloadable mods dont have lights.

Not all aircraft have lights. Especially many modded ones not updated after 2014.

In the game all stock aircraft and some newer add-ons you just have to press the "I" key
For the older add-ons that use animations and rotating beacons you'll either have to press the "1" key or open bomb bay key, the swept wing key and/or the vtol up and down keys.

Now some of these functions may or may not be assigned to a key so you can check and assign them in the options-->joystick and key assignments and in the new dialog select keyboard tab at the top. There you can scroll and change assignments if needed

Also if you check the aircraft/packs read me file it should tell you what functions active the lights

Ys is a very basic sim. You can not turn on/off specific lights, but instead all lights on or off.

Actually you can turn on/off specific lights. If you go to Option -> Key/Joystick Assignment and click on that, then go to the tab that says "Keyboard", scroll all the way down and you'll see a whole bunch of options, including a "master" switch that you can assign to turn on/off all lights, plus navigation lights, strobes, beacons etc.

Here's how I have assigned mine:

Lights master switch: ~ key
Navigation lights: ] key
Beacons: [ key
Strobes: /
Landing lights: : key

Keep in mind though that the beacons and strobes may be reversed on some planes. Depending on the modder/original creator of the aircraft, beacons maybe on the fuselage or on the wingtips. Same goes for the strobes. The key to remember which is which is strobes flash about once every second, while beacons flash at a much slower frequency than that. E.g., the red lights on TF 58s 757s have been given a CLA value so that they are strobes (flashing about once every second), but the wing lights are beacons. However, on some other planes, such the NCA 757-200, the wing lights have a strobe CLA (so that they flash about once every second) but the fuselage lights are strobes. Pull these aircraft up in YSFS and you'll see the difference.

My general rant: I will call them blended winglets, not Sharklets; There is no CEO, it's just simply put, an Airbus 319/320/321, or the 320NEO, 321NEO etc. I didn't land IN DAL, I landed AT DAL. On the other hand, I did land in Dallas.

Yep. You can assign keys to specific types of lights.

Quan Vo, if I may, please consider how you name your threads.

"Dear All", "Dear Mr. Patrick" etc. don't give any indication as to what the thread is about. It's also bad for you because other people will just scroll on by...
