Assuming Windows, select multiple pink boxes, and ground objects, and anything else you want to rotate, by holding the CTRL key while clicking them with your mouse.

Okay this is a bit advanced, copy paste the contents of the second FLD file onto the end of the first FLD file and see what happens.

Does anyone know why the shrinkwrap projection isn't working? It doesn't even try to wrap around the object whearas when I use the "nearest surface point" option it works.

Your question not clear. Give more details, step-by-step and screenshots.

It could be that the mesh you are trying to shrink-wrap doesn't have enough vertices to bend and wrap itself around the object.

Try cutting it up and try it again.

I think decaff covered it in his tutorial but just to mention it again, when you shrinkwrap you want to move the mesh as close the object as you can. Then enter the side view and try to get the vertices to align. This will give you a clean wrap and no "ghost" faces that cross each other.

The most common mistake with projection is that we forget it is dependent on the object rotation/orientation of the object being shrinkwrapped. Reset the orientation of the object being shrinkwrapped w/ ctrl -> a -> 1. Then the projection directions should work with the global directions like you are expecting. Also try flipping positive and negative if the first step doesn't work.

Hello everyone,
I've noticed a difference in how DirectX and OpenGL render large elevation grids.
The top image is DirectX and the lower OpenGL 2.
directx.png
opengl.png
When your POV is at an acute angle to horizontal, OpenGL appears to make the elev. grid in front of any lower faces disappear, including polygons. It also makes some mountains appear transparent, and you only realise they're there once it's too late.
However, DirectX appears to be immune to this. :?: Is there any sort of graphics card / YSF setting that might change this?

OpenGL2 doesn't like elevation grids with protected faces/maps on them.

Did you reported it to Soji?

I think that issue has been known for a long time, which is why patrick's hawaii map must be run in D3d

That's strange. I run it fine on OpenGL2. Of course, you can see through the elevation grid on the big island at the military base.

How hide ground objects from radars?

Did you try using the RADAR CROSS SECTION (RADARCRS?) Dat variable? Did that work?

RADARCRS is for aircraft or ground? I don`t remember now. How use it?

I think RADARCRS applies only to aircraft.

I remember the 2ch maps have some SAM sites that are invisible to radar. Might want to look into that.

Here is two strings that related to font inside this file

Code: Select all
