[SOLVED] YSFlight Connection/Multiplayer Problem

Post by Deleted User 1872 »

Hey there, everyone. I'm in a little bit of a predicament that I have to solve before Thursday/Friday this week. I'm not able to connect to any YSFlight servers!

So here's the thing, I had the port 7915 forwarded, and whenever I started a server users had no problem connecting to it. I even went to "canyouseeme.org" and it confirmed activity through 7915 (That the port was opened) But even with all of that taken care of, I couldn't connect to any YSFlight servers, making it a big worry before the next YSFlight event. Now I've closed the port, uninstalled and reinstalled a fresh copy of YSFlight 2015. Yet I still can't connect to civav, the 49th server, or any of my friends' servers. :?

Any help would be widely appreciated right now as this is an urgent problem for me.

Some things that came to mind, not sure if you tried them.
  • Downloaded YSF on a separate computer? Same result or different? If able to connect, then its a computer issue, if not, then a router issue most likely
  • Did you delete the config folder in your YSF folder located in documents? Your internet config might be messed up and your reinstalls are not overwriting it.
  • stupid, but doesnt hurt to ask. Typing in the server name correctly?
  • Anything you changed prior to this happening?

1. I haven't tried downloading on a separate computer mainly because I don't have another : :?

2. I don't remember ever deleting the config folder inside the YSFLIGHT.COM folder located in documents. I remember deleting a file called "flight.cfg" but that was because I had errors that carried from my 2015 build when I tried to fly on my other (2012) build like "ERROR: What's Reliability?" and so forth. Both builds were installed in separate locations but the documents folder might have been played with because of that.

3. Yep. Quadruple checked

4. I don't recall ever touching anything major. Just kept playing offline and usually set up my server from time to time. Installed mods, the usual.

Anyone have more ideas/suggestions?

1. Check Firewalls. A) All of them. Windows Firewall (turn it off for a test) B) 3rd party firewall (from anti virus or other software on your pc) C) Router firewall. Port 7915 may be open, but a router firewall may be blocking outbound traffic to it

2. Call your ISP and ask them if they are blocking outbound traffic to port 7915

Thank you a bunch, everyone! @Vic, it took me an hour to navigate throughout the whole router until I found unchecked boxes of 7915's traffic in and traffic out. Checking them brought my multiplayer back to life :D I'm actually relieved and back on working out things for the show
