Re: YSFlight 20170517 Test Version
I now test it, and see some issues and bugs, that already described in previouse test version topic discussion, but hope, that all them could be fixed before next stable version of YSFlight.
Soon will post description of bugs, that are in this version.

Re: YSFlight 20170517 Test Version
this can be maked in .exe files that can be worked for compatibility mode with other versions of each osPatrick31337 wrote: ↑Sat May 20, 2017 12:08 am Is there any way to get the new version to work on Win XP or Vista? Like something that could be installed for compatibility?
example: if you're using windows vista, and you wants to run a program that works in windows 7, you should stablish the compatibility mode of the file on windos 7
but the test version is on a zip file, i think you can stablish the compatibility of the openg1x/2x or the direct3d.exe for windows 7 to run it, i'ven't tryed it but... never knows

What a problem with Windows version of YSFlight on XP/Vista?Patrick31337 wrote: ↑Sat May 20, 2017 12:08 am Is there any way to get the new version to work on Win XP or Vista? Like something that could be installed for compatibility?
P.S.: I think, better choice for you is install some Linux in dual boot on your PC and use Linux version of YSFlight on it.
LinuxMint or PuppyLinux is good Linux dstro for this
Also, remember, that your PC must support 64bit architecture, because Soji dropped 32bit architecture support since 2017.

Re: YSFlight 20170517 Test Version
Leaving that there and moving on, I recently emailed Soji about a couple of problems that 2017 has which he can fix to make a great stable 2017 version. Apparently that email wasn't enough after finding out further problems with this version. Before the 2017 version I used to have great frames using both opengl 1 and direct3d. Disabling the clouds (which are the main source of my fps loss) a.k.a. going into the settings and selecting "no cloud" does nothing. I still see clouds and my only way to disable them is to select flat cloud. I am able to get a frame rate count of 20 maximum on ctrl+1 settings while windowed.
Turning on the velocity indicator with the V key also brightens the instrument panel, which might just be a personal thing when it comes to annoyance. I don't like how Soji has changed the views and I don't like how he's starting to key combine things and disable your ability to reverse that. In replays, I can no longer tell how faster or how slower the other aircraft is going compared to me and vice versa which makes it hard to join up and fly aerobatics. More than 10 flares (possibly because of the particle system) drops my frame rate immensely. This goes for the burning particle effect too.
At this point, I do not understand why Soji continues to implement great features into YSFlight but continue to break other things that have been okay since square one. The lighting changes direction by the movement of your camera view and the Head-Up Display looks wonky now along with spacing in between the numbers and a red "gear up" box. Whenever I see something red, it's alerting and always catches my attention first while I am first to assume that it is something bad. Instead, it just says that my gear is up. This could be useful for landing and forgetting that your gear is not extended, but during all of the flight in whatever aircraft you may be in, is not necessary in my opinion.
I have a different flight simulator, actually two of them, called IL-2 1946 and FSX. FSX can run at about the same frame rate as 2017 does, yet it has textures for almost everything and cool features overall. IL-2 has more burning particles and metal particles that can be spread across half of a 100 mile map, and I still run on a smooth 60 frames. Meanwhile, one jet that burns in 2017 drops my frames to 10. And I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but why do the colors keep fading more and more each time a different version (no matter if it's test or stable) is released?
I see all of this as a serious problem because YSFlight was meant to run on low end computers such as mine and tons more before me, maybe even some here right now. If this development keeps spiraling downhill that purpose will be lost and I can easily imagine YSFlight's users becoming less and less interested as their favorite simulator becomes more and more of an issue. These are my views and criticism and I'm sticking to it. Compared to 2012/2013/2014 test versions, this is just feels like such a downgrade.

Re: YSFlight 20170517 Test Version
-EDIT-
Goodie gumdrops! Even more problems with 2017!
I'd like to mention that YSFlight (Gl1/2,d3d) all crash if you have the window minimized for too long. I've confirmed that this problem isn't only for me have seeing other people in the 49th report this too. Vic Viper has a gaming PC that is worth $3500 and he is getting 15-20 frames per second LESS than usual. Xray, who is a newbie to YSFlight, has told me that he receives a higher framerate in ARMA 2 than he does in the Direct3d version.
I'm a little pissed off. In my opinion, this is the worst test version released that I've ever seen
