Can you give us a little more detail? Which addon(s) are you trying to install?

Also the YS Major pack 2.

Also, I have no planes in the selection window.

make sure your lst file starts with air, gro, sce, etc. and is in the right folder for it to be recognized by ysflight. You can open the .lst file in notepad to see where the other files should be installed

for EEE_YS, you want to make sure to copy the eee_ys folder to the root of your YSFlight folder, and inside it, there'll be a "air_eee.lst" that you need to move to the aircraft folder.

For the rest, just merge the aircraft and user folders

Always find and read the air*.lst file and that will help you find out where the folders and other components are meant to go.

One of my big gripes about addons in the YS community is people not releasing in the standard aircraft/user folder combo, or ground/user, scenery/user etc.

Lists go to the Aircraft/Ground/Scenery folders and the content of the addon goes to the User folder. Can't stress that enough addon developers! :|

I'm thinking about making a video tutorial with some non-standard addons and show how to make them work on Windows.

@ Flake,

I think if the default ground objects and aircraft were set up that way it would make things a lot easier to understand the format. That way there isn't the mix of LST and aircraft/ground/scenery files all together.

Personally I've never had any confusion with addons that are not released with the typical user/folder_name and the .lst file in its respective folder. If you follow the path lines in the .lst, they tell you exactly where the folder should go. I've even solved countless errors from addons that weren't gven proper path lines using that methodology. Had to be done in the early days of YSFS on a regular basis, because the user/... structure had not quite gained traction back then.

That being said, I'm not advocating that addon makers should not use the user/... structure. It is definitely less error-prone and does make installing quick, especially when you have to install several addons at a time.

I particularly advocate the aircraft / user FOLDER style addon release format because then installing is easy: Drag and drop both folders to ysflight root. No thinking or inspection involved.
