.ysf Situational Code (Weather etc.)

Post by waspe414 »

I've been messing around with mission files and came across all this stuff:
EVTBLOCK
TXTEVT 10.00 0
TXT Text goes here
ENDEVT
VISCHG 15.0 0
VISI 5000m
ENDEVT
WNDCHG 10.0 0
WIND 100.000000m/s 0.000000m/s 0.000000m/s
ENDEVT
EDEVTBLK
Text.
Visibility.
Wind.
Time it occurs.
Not a clue.
Input data.
But I can't for the life of me figure out what this does or what it means (the bolded part):
VISCHG 15.0 0
VISI CLDLYR OVC 800ft 1000ft
ENDEVT

Maybe "Cloud layer ??? min alt, max alt". I see no affect on weather though.
Any ideas?

Good idea Kynan. May I ask where you got this replay from (or how you made it)?
I make this website.

The weather came from the Pirate Attack .ysf, the text from tailstrike messages in a saved replay.

I have fog turned on, and setting visibility to x meters works perfectly fine, I just don't see any effect with this particular line. I suppose I could set the range to ten feet or so and see with that.

Shoot Soji an email and post what he says. Everyone can use this.

It seems like a cloud layer thicknes definition where 800Ft. are the bottoms and 1000Ft. are the tops But it seems unusual for them to be defined in Ft. rather than meters since most all Ys defs. are metric.Just my 2 cents worth. ;)

I have yet to hear back, but I took a stab at the wind controls. First guess worked...

WNDCHG 0.0 0
WIND 0.000000m/s 0.000000m/s 0.000000m/s
ENDEVT

Bumpity.

So Soji responded, saying CLDLYR OVC 800ft 1000ft means "that cloud layer overcast bottom 800ft top 1000ft."

I still see no effect.
