Yes, I will place stock aircraft into my maps. I will also include some sort of text document listing where you can find the vehicles and aircraft in each map.

Recently ive been doing a lot of work on the runway city map. I have been reorganizing the maps elements and fixing roads on the other islands. I've also cleaned up a lot of the useless enemy objects. The new enemy bases will be a safe distance from civilian air routes.

Image
I have added a new overpass/underpass ground object, this will appear in many of my maps.

Image
There are two new cars, a full size sedan and a sportscar. Both are very low poly objects.

Image
The police version of the sedan has a top speed and acceleration rate thats slightly higher than the regular version of the sedan

Image
I've added a ramp that leads to the roof of the police HQ. There you will find an Apache helicopter.

^I remember driving around on your map that has the cloverleaf highway interchanges, and the complete highway system on which you can drive around the island. I forget the name, it's not RWY City but something else. Might have to go back into my map inventory to find that one. At any rate, looking forward to your new works mh3w. Nice diamond interchange!

You should make a tutorial about how you are doing those overpasses and bridges. You are amazing! :D

That map was called Island Fortress, Its also high on my list for updates. Making a tutorial for the roads is a good idea, I will put something like that together and post it here.

I recently found a bug in ysflight regarding ground-to-air defense missions. When I attempted to change from a Gepard into an aircraft, the sim crashed.

Image

This is a pic of the ground-to-air defense area with the glitch. Its a small military base on an island a few miles away from RWC. I made all of the ground objects on this island primary targets. The Gepard is located next to a harrier, switching into the harrier during a ground-to air mission crashes the game. Otherwise, everything works fine.

Besides that, I have updated the locations and tags of the navigation facilities in the Runway City map. Some of the VOR stations are now strategically placed for instrument flight. I will release some simple nav charts and maybe an approach plate or two for the map. I am also planning to create some approach plates for Porlamar.

I'm totally loving these. Its the one of some great maps that has roads, cars, houses and even trees. I say this because most of the maps are low on vegetation or any ornaments. I know this is done to have a small amount of lag but I have hard that if a obj. has no collision file there wont be any lag. Anyways, great job on these maps.

Actually I have heard just the oposite, but for aircraft. The collision file allows YSF to simply calculate/know where the plane is, without having to use the dnm for the calculations. The simpler coll file makes it easier to compute...

Not sure where I heard that or when (i think fairly recently) but yeah...

I've flown around on the Island Fortress map several times but:
I never was able to figure out why I couldn't get the bridges to appear.
What's the secret there?

Not sure about this but I think that removing the showdows from ground objects also reduces lag. I have seen other modders use the "NOSHADOW" command and add them with either a dark polygon or a gradation quad strip in the scenery before. I will try anything to reduce lag.

Thats odd,

Thats odd. I have tested the map before and I never had that error. Maybe they aren't in the right directory. In most of my later maps I placed the ground objects in a separate folder inside the mh3w directory. The scenery pack doesn't work without all of the folders and files in place. I will test this again to be sure.

Recently I've been trying to wrap my head around the air route feature, its a lot more complicated than I thought. I recently got some to work after many hours of testing and troubleshooting. Currently I have air routes setup successfully in RWC and Porlamar. I will also make sure to leave a few aircraft at airports with no orders so they can be taken.

Ive recently built this 4 level highway interchange for use in many of my maps with roads. It is as low poly as possible while remaining functional. Its supposed to add a little bit of functionality and character to the maps. I have this 4-way and also a 3-way version.

This is unrelated but I really like the new look for the forum!

Highway interchanges just reached a new level of epicness in YSFS. That rocks!

Is that a ground object? Doesn't look like an elevation grid structure...

Yes, its an object. Its actually split into three separate objects because the ramps have to cross each other.

Lately I've been working on the Chicago map. The map is currently in bad shape and will require tons of work to completely fix. I will postpone completely fixing the map for later.

For now, I have gotten rid of the super long range VOR stations that were previously on each air field and replaced them with normal VOR/DME stations. I Used sectional charts as a reference for where to place them. The locations are not 100% accurate so I have included and image showing where the airports and nav stations are. I have uploaded a working copy here.

Will you add more buildings? Maps in YS tend to have few if none at all.
