Hence I shall apply CyanogenMod's only rule:

No asking for ETAs.

I mean like, yes, this is something worth looking forward to, but what is the point in pressurizing him to release the other paints? Not only that, you just make yourself look like some impatient idiot that knows nothing.

Really, there is no point in asking for ETAs. Just wait patiently and great things will come around.

Decided to go back and re-visit the 737 pack. With the experience I've got in blender now, the wings came together much better. No asymmetry in the wings, because of a lot of mirror modifiers. I'll have to make a couple videos about the things I learned while doing this.

Here's the Next Gen blanks as I've got them right now. I still have to get the wingtip nav lights from my previous efforts. After that I'm going to get the dat files, collision, and cockpit files together so I can do initial flight tests. I don't want to have any issues with the blanks, so I only lose an individual plane if something goes wrong in the future.

aaaaand I lost most of the blanks...I decided to do a quick test of the 600, and it showed me that there was a ton of fixes to do. So I decided to only focus on the 600 and then re-develop the rest of the blanks from this guy.

I have just about everything fixed, but I've run into an interesting issue that I would like ppls input on.

Image

So this is what the inside of the cockpit looks like in one of the F1 viewpoints. The cockpit file only includes the instrument panels. EVERYTHING else is part of the regular dnm, including the dashboard.

Image

THis is what the cockpit looks like from the outside...

My question is this:
Why is the dashboard the only thing that shows thru the windows?

any ideas you have that I can investigate would be appreciated.
I'd like to fix this, cause it looks wierd.

I have experienced this in flight when the detail for aircraft is set to auto try making the detail full to view the details from the exterior.Or you could just go thru all the detail levels until you get the view your looking for. Also in the aircraft preview mod you may not see all the details available until you start the flight.Just a few thoughts for you to look at. ;)

...

I may have pointed this out to you before.

Due to the way the gfx engine of YS works, the dnm is rendered in the manner it is arranged. You can arrange the order of the srfs thru DNMViewer. As the transparencies are rendered first, the peep hole effect happens. Hence, you should put ALL transparent parts LAST in the srf order so that this effect will be eliminated.

That did it NightRaven! Unfortunately for me, using blender wrecks the order during import/export. So I guess I will have to do that manually for each aircraft I make. :?

Well, I guess that nearly wraps up the 737-600 testing. On to making the rest of the blanks.

One way to stop Blender wrecking the order (it's damn irritating I know) is to make the body srf the parent of all the other srfs. That way Blender will play nice and keep the order. That was how I made my MiG-31X.

DNM Viewer can do this re-ordering of SRF sequence as well.
easier than manually messing with notepad.

What decaff meant was after he rearranged the srfs in DNMViewer and imported it back into Blender for further tweaking, when he re-exported the dnm, the order was messed up again.

@decaff : this problem might also be present in your 727. You might want to look into it.

Finally got it :D

Now that I have the blank nailed down, I'm going to expand this into blanks for the 7,8,9 hundred versions.

Sadly, YSUpload throws a MySQL database error. I don't know if this is related to the file, as I have not checked for other files.

I got same MySQL error, but only on this. I can download anything else (I think! Managed to download Meldis)
Hope it can be fixed. Could be something to do with the name?

Can you release the blanks, too? I'd love to do a bunch of retro paints. I love vintage. (thinking about a Lufthansa paint that I saw flying a few years back and instantly fell in love with)

Don't worry my friend, The blanks will be released with the rest of the pack, but you might want to use the existing 737-300 & 737-500 blanks already out for retro paints, as those were probably the aircraft those paints were on. ;)

Took far longer than I'd rather admit. The shrinkwrapping on the belly was not fun. also re-discovered my love for the shear tool to get the tail decal working.
