Thanks mate!

I got some more done on this guy. I now have processed all the animations in dnmviewer and they check out. I also have the coarse srf file all set!

Now I have to work on the DAT file, and to that end, I have turned to my python codes for this aircraft. All the original calculations were done in excel and VBA, but I am trying to learn python, so I have been re-writing the calculations into numpy/scipy python 3.4. I am mostly looking to use python as a replacement for Matlab so when I no longer have access to the license through my school, I will have a decently powerful tool.

Here's the printout for the first couple sections of the code:

Code: Select all

That designs looks well thought out and highly plausible. Best of luck in making this project a reality....in the skies of YS, of course!

quite beautiful and Abel will be probably the first one will repaint it for his VA...
my question is,when is both the B787 and the Advanced Super Hornets will be finished?
p.s=I now modifying Decaff's F/A-18D to the -F version and managed to deleted those high quantities of vertices on the camo to clean it back, don't angry with it.....

So the EX-50 that was designed to do 480 kts, does 670 in YSFlight. I think my designed engine requirements were a bit high at 7000 lbf each… Perhaps something like 4500 lbf would be a bit more workable.

I also burned fuel waaaaayyy to fast. I did a check flight from Honolulu to Hilo of ~210 miles and burned something like 13% of my internal fuel…The reduction in thrust should help me reduce fuel consumption, but I will have to fiddle with things to get my 3100 nm range. Right now I'm sitting with a 1600 mile range.

I still have a couple oops' to fix in the dnm file, like having the coarse srf included with the landing gear…

Try researching the fuel consumption for the P180 Avanti after you have reduced the engine power.Probably not perfect but may get you some ball park #s to work with.

Edit: I just realizes what I did here apples and oranges.More like a Citation II.

Thanks! And to celebrate my progress on completing the cockpit, here's the EX-50 sporting the traditional HAVA paint scheme!

I dunno why but the nose keeps reminding me of a mouse, with the FLS there to act like whiskers.

It is still in development. The aircraft was a design project for my Aerospace BS degree and I'm converting it to YSF. I hope to have a small fleet soon. Now that the final model is done, I'm painting them and then doing flight tests. :D

Well after the rush to fix the EX-50 Dat file, I decided to get a 787 test program going. So far it has revealed several flaws and errors that I need to fix.

One of them is the cockpit window transparency. I remember running into something like this in the past, but didn't remember how I fixed it. I have tried exporting and then re-importing the window but that doesn't seem to work.

I also spotted some mesh issues in the cockpit with respect to smoothing and then also not closed off meshes by the window.

Thanks! I thought I went back far enough through this topic, but I guess not!
