Following The wisdom (All hail the NightRaven!!!!) of my betters, I was able to fix the transparency issues, but now I have noticed that the window looks not-smooth. But in blender this is smooth as ice.

Aside from this, the 787 looks really nice!

Not for a while...I still need to do a lot of work in the cockpit and also I need landing gear :D

Then the paint time will take a bit longer than normal due to the overall aircraft detail. Considering I start full-time work in about 3-weeks it will take a while.

Waiting on LF for some landing gear, so I played around with blender's rendering settings and found a mode that lets me use the vertex paint colors!

I think the vertical thing is a bit exaggerated. Last year they were doing the same stunt at Farnborough.

How do I rotate camera? Someone did this with a c-17 takeoff as well once.

Could always try running down the runway at full speed, and once hitting over 200, pulling up with full trim and leveling out. Just an idea, not sure if it would work though.

That Tupelov is coming out really nice :)

What you have to remember is that, that takeoff was At an airshow where Boeing tries to sell the product, the aircraft would be pretty much empty and probably half of the fuel it would normally use when doing circuits, and sting, I know right lol

I'm not sure about the newer versions, but the F10 view mode allows you to fly around and look in any direction with the stick controlling the direction.

Wow it has been almost a month since I've posted anything here. Partially because my job is sucking my time.

I am still waiting on LF for the landing gear for the 787, and the teasers he has shown me are awesome! :D

I am going to be preparing the decals for the various 787 paint schemes I want to do so that when I get the gear, I will have a faster to completion time on the 787s.

In addition to another project I have been experimenting with Afterburner/nozzle stuff for a fighter jet. I found a fairly detailed FSX model (100k vertices) with a nice nozzle mesh which I am using here to test animations and procedure. I believe the engine was modeled on a F404 engine designed for the F-18 Hornet, so the petals look kinda familiar to me.

This was a bit of a challenge to piece together how to go about setting up the animations, because I wanted to have VG nozzle contraction and AB expansion. I've gotten that working, but I am also interested in adding the lighting on the inside of the nozzle where the ablative pieces are.

The sharp looking edge with the contracted petals is not as bad as the image makes it out to be. It is only a 10 degree contraction, so with the curve of the petal and a little bit of mesh work on the fuselage, the nozzle would look right in place.

The white squares are place holders for the afterburner expansion animation. I will delete the vertices (but not the object) when it is ready for use and not in development.
