Re: NightRaven's Shed
Then, for some reason or another, I decided to continue where I left off.
Flaps and afterburners are done.

Re: NightRaven's Shed
Currently working on the gears, where, like in my sketch, has a hydraulic system as the gear is split in two parts. As I cannot animate each part separately, I have to make do with a simple, one-shot animation.

Landing lights are done.
Also done are the fiendishly difficult to animate rudders.
A unique problem was that the engines were blocking the path of the rudders, so I cut them in two and animated them as followed:

Re: NightRaven's Shed
Plus some decals.
And managed to get one gear working.
The detail FSX modders actually put into their models just stuns me.
As for the MiG-31X...
Pylons and gear lights are done.
Now time to figure out the hardpoints before moving on to the UPEO and pink variants...

The UPEO variant paint is done.
It was surprisingly easy to do. I got it done within an hour or so.
I haven't really figured the hardpoints out though.

And behold!
The *ahem* manliest *ahem* MiG of them all!
Not yet... Wait for it... Soon...
Yea it's pink.
Remember her?
I left the pylons there for an upcoming WPNSHAPE tutorial.
However, this may be the last post about my mods for this year as I am leaving for a holiday in Korea and I don't see any other days in which I have time to mod.
Well, fingers crossed.

Re: NightRaven's Shed
The *ahem* manliest MiG ever to soar the skies!
Wowe
such pink
very cockpit
Flowers on both sides.
The dnm file is rather large at 1.07MB, twice as large as the other 2 planes. I reckon it's due to the large number of polka dots and stars. I won't be slimming it down.
This project is finally complete. Now I can turn my attention to the HQPGAC standard MiGs and other projects such as the TARDIS.
I may also enter these aircrafts into Gunny's contest.

But meh,
I have already started work on the HQPGAC MiG-15.
I still need to find a suitable cockpit file.
Some engine shadowing that I added, I don't know why.
-- Mon Dec 23, 2013 2:13 pm --
Added a cockpit file based on this image:
And landing lights.
However, that will most likely be the last thing I'll be doing for modding this year. I'll see if I can cram in a bit of modding tomorrow before my flight, and I'll post it here.
If not, then, have a happy New Year.

Re: NightRaven's Shed
I have already started on the HQPGAC MiG-29 before I left, and since I came back today, I've spent a couple of hours on it.
Much panel lines
Very engine shadowing
Both of these models are based on 2ch GAC aircraft.

Re: NightRaven's Shed
lol
and gun barrel
-- Sun Jan 05, 2014 3:29 pm --
Fixed the shadowing issues caused by Edgesplit (it caused normal smoothed faces to become blockish)
Also finished the cockpit, both exterior and interior.
-- Tue Jan 07, 2014 6:19 pm --
Gave the MiG a new paint scheme.
Plus arresting hook.
And figured out the hardpoints.
