Added TF58's 747 turbine fans with his permission. Also added main fuel tank and more spikey little lightning dissipators on the elevators and rudder. Thrust reversers as well.

Re: NightRaven's Shed

Landing lights (part 1) are done.
AND THE FRIKIN HARD TO DO COCKPIT WINDOWS ARGH

Rebuilt the central tank to accommodate the main gears.

Spoilers separated and rotated for upcoming animation.

Remade the cockpit windows. Manually shrinkwrapped onto the fuselage.
It took me 45 minutes...

Been busy of late...
Main gears are done. Wheels and body have had subsurf applied.

Ailerons and inner flaps are completed and rotated.

Rebuilt the wing as well to accommodate the gear doors.

Just be careful with the subsurfs. you don't want to explode the number of verticies and lag up the model.

Re: NightRaven's Shed
I've only managed to start on the nose gear. Most of it is done, though. Including the lamps for the gear lights.

aaaaaaaaaand .blend file is 2.24MB...

Re: NightRaven's Shed

Also started animating the dnm
and then
I noticed that I missed out on lots of things
but still

As you can see, the left wing is done, complete with flaps, ailerons, spoilers and slats. The wing will be edited later (I hate the slats now).
Also, thrust reverser animation is complete, and so is the rudder.
One little tid-bit:
There is an inner aileron that works only when the flaps are down (I think), so I went ahead and made one.
So, when flaps are up:

The aileron doesn't move.
But when flaps are down:

The aileron moves accordingly.
Gear and gear door animation are also complete.
Things to patch:
The actuators for the flaps.

Gear bay (yep just realised that)

And a nose gear bay and doors.

Re: NightRaven's Shed
Gear bays are done (though the other parts had to be redone).

You might notice the left and right main gear doors aren't working anymore, as I remade them from scratch to accommodate the gear bays. The flaps were also redone for the same reason.
Actuators for the flaps are also finished.

In the actual aircraft, the flaps pivot around these actuators, so...

Yep, they are now connected, instead of just floating there.
Its pretty cool, IMO.

Re: NightRaven's Shed
I think that little piece would add a lot of bang for the vertex.

With that aside, let me go find my eyebrows and jaw...they're around here somewhere...I hope.

Re: NightRaven's Shed
Just a few tips if I may:
-if you can, adjust the front of the #1 and #3 engine cowlings so that they don't taper as much, like in this shot. They're almost flat.
-it might just be the screenshot playing tricks on me, but the gear *might* need to be a bit taller
I know you are trying your best on this so no criticism here, just some things to do if you can, no worries either way

Re: NightRaven's Shed

With that almost complete, the DC-10-30 blank is nearing completion.
Also added some landing lights
which exploded the dnm size

They are small, but noticeable.
