well done good sir!

Just an idea of how big the map will be...

No ground objects so the framerate is not messed with. I get 20 out of a max 30 fps with this.

Speaking of that I will plan to make some sort of boats out of ground objects (not sure what quality those will be :? ) for your unit to be able to conduct operations out at sea. I'll see what I can do as far as making stranded ships and sinking vessels.

Since Rockford is your region, you can go ahead and crack it if you want. I have so many other projects and I'm not even going to Rockford so it'll all be based off of what I see on the internet pictures and images much like Virginia. Never been there but know what it looks like by cockpit videos and google earth. I'm seriously thinking of doing MCAS Beaufort and Parris Island and my run up the coast to connect it all to what I've already done, Southeast Virginia. Still thinking whether or not to do that connection for those that want a scenic commercial or military flight from one to another. More than that in fact, I'm leaning more towards doing Washington D.C. and Annapolis. Both are relatively close to my map and D.C. was requested long ago on ysp by another member but it never actually got done.

I knew it was and I was going to use videos and photos of the area plus my knowledge of the Chicagoland to make it as close as possible to the real thing.

Washington D.C. is officially on my list now. Map should include Washington Ronald Reagan Intl., Washington Dulles Intl., MCB Quantico, Joint Base Andrews Naval something blahblah, and as many bases and facilities around D.C. as I can get without overloading. Pentagon, White House (not sure of quality :? ), Capitol Building, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, a bunch of Federal buildings, more federal buildings, some civilian places followed by more federal buildings  . Now that I think of all these federal places, this could be a hazard to national security  . I am not responsible for the actions any ys players commit in my upcoming scenery of Washington D.C. and viscinity. Take that FBI.

Of course you can. In fact I'm willing to teach myself somehow to make at least one oil tanker or something for you to fly around and such. I don't like to use ground objects much so expect just about everything to be elevation grids. I can't stop flying on it and it only has three complete airports at the moment. Just to show how much fun it is. This will be my third ever map release.

I've just come back from Daytona Beach, Florida with my drill team. We are now national champions and I have been completely inspired by my trip. I'm announcing that from this I will finish Virginia and my immediate next project will be the Orlando to Daytona Beach, FL areas so you can expect more beautiful beaches and sunshine in the forecast.

I know none of my current projects have been released in a while and mostly the reason is because I've been very busy lately. But the other reason is that I've been researching and figuring out whether I think I can take on a huuuuuuge project. The first post has been updated and will continue to be updated with what's in progress. Maps will come out in their own releases as usual. However, I have a major project in mind that may take me until the end of the year or later.

It's called Project: Southeast United States, and the name explains it all. I plan to put individual maps together to build a large scale map of the entire Southeast US. This is planned to be everything between Indianapolis, Washington D.C., Florida, and Atlanta. There are many major airports included to be Orlando International, Indianapolis International, Atlanta-Hartsfield, and Washington Dulles. I'm not sure how long the project will take but I plan to first do these airports and their vicinities individually, and then culminate them into one flyable map. The project will begin to take effect until further notice. The original post will update with the current part of the project in the works.

Do it. I dare you.

You should have a whole team of map artists do different parts and then put it all together. That would be fuego. One person does the terrain, one person does airports, one person does mountains, etc etc.
