I've sized it up and fixed the rudder animation before realizing I still had a few more details to put in

Here is the slightly remodelled and more accurate turbojet

Yes, +1 Airspeed Ambassador :)

I recommend you create/set up a poll :)

Also, who is she? The third one? :)

^I believe that's the Sud Aviation Caravelle, a "looker" in its own right.

I'm thinking BAC One-Eleven. Have been looking for one for ages and just thought the day might come where someone would make one.

I'm actually thinking of making a VC-10. I may make a BAC 111 but the reference images that i've found have been subpar, and YS seems to lack a high quality VC-10. There's one around but it's pretty basic. If I make the VC-10, or BAC 111, whatever i choose they'll be my first attempt to make them "HD" quality (think Decaff's 727's), as my other models have had no transparencies or sparse interiors.

You can always try the-blueprints.com or airwar.ru for excellent blueprints. I somehow managed to get a really high resolution MiG 1.44 blueprint from the former and am currently using a DC-10 blueprint from the latter. With some luck, you might get some cross section diagrams and (gasp) cockpit diagrams from airwar as well.

I think I'll do a VC-10. Thank you for your suggestions. Afterwards I'll get to a BAC and the Ambassador, so don't worry!

And yeah NightRaven I found 2 very good reference images of the VC-10 from this great site: http://www.vc10.net/ has quite a lot of technical info I can use.

The references on the blueprints site (which I use a lot) weren't as detailed and innaccurate in the nose section

Re: Mr. Funnybone's Workshop

So if anyone's wondering what happened to this project, I only worked on it for several hours (base mesh) before I postponed the project to deal with a few rl issues. A week ago I was about to start work again but after seeing several vc-10 models in FSX as well as studying more photos of the nose section I was unsatisfied with my own nose section. Felt it was too narrow and got a bit frustrated. I actually managed to port in fsx model into blender and realized how different mine was to it. I was thinking about maybe just slapping the nose section of the fsx plane onto my mesh (The engine section was another bit I wasn't happy about) but I felt it was a pretty cheap way to go about doing it. Plus the FSX model had WAY too many vertices to match up to my own model. The detail was impressive. So anyways I thought of maybe porting the nose section only so i could just base my model off it (similar to using 3 way images, except this time I was copying a model) unfortunately It's almost impossible (at least I haven't found a way) to port fsx models to blender 2.49, porting to 2.77 works alright but that doesn't help with ys modding. I've got a pretty short attention span though, and it's hard for me to stay on one project at a time. It's hard for me to stay focused on a project, esp for me one that I can't get done in like two or three 5 hour sessions. I feel that these high detail models require a lot of commitment that I frankly dont really have. So the VC-10 project is scrapped (what it looks like so far) and I'm thinking about, if i ever do another model it be a smaller, high/decent quality model (something like a GA plane or WW2) or some GAC quality airliners. Anyways sorry to disappoint to anyone who wanted this, I get disinterested easily and especially when things immediately dont work out :( kinda shity excuse and completely my fault of personality, but im sorry

Sorry for the wall of text heres some pictures of the two models compared:
Mine:

I know, it's a bit unfair to compare a model which isn't even completed yet to one which has, but there are some major (at least in my eye, I'm a bit of a perfectionist though when it comes to getting the right shape) differences in nose shape.

Dont let the nose discourage you. I find that it is the most complicated part of the mesh creation. Also remember that FSX models are not always correct. ;) Looking at pictures of the real aircraft is probably the best way to get information.

Whenever I work on an FSX model (or sketchup model) to bring into YSFlight a huge portion of the work is removing details and correcting mistakes in the mesh.

Okayguys, good news. I Said I was done with the VC-10 yesterday after some complications but today I've resolved not to give up on one of my favorite aircraft. This thing WILL come to YS. And in HD! Anyways while searching around the web for other planes to build I went back to the-blueprints to find a 3 way view for a BAC 1-11. For some reason someone had placed a blueprint for the VC-10 into the BAC section, and this blueprint was of such high quality, better than the one i had been using and higher res (1996x2931). So now I'm going to restart from the very beginning again, but this time hopefully with a little more luck.

the first steps:

Right now as a side project to gain some more experience in working with higher detailed models, I'm going to be modifying TF58's 747-400's into 747-100's and 200's. TF58's model is pretty good but there are some issues with the nose and upper deck that i've noticed.
