There are two options.
1. unshadow.pl is fast and easy, but can cause problems (unsmooth surfaces that should be smooth)
2. Delete those polygons, duplicate the vertices they touched, and remake the polygons with the new vertices so they are not connected to the polygons around them.
It has to do with the way two polygons meet when they share vertices, so making the polygon with their own vertices prevent that problem. This can be tricky in Gepoly, but I would assume there is a button you push in the magic Blender box.

Yes there is.

Go to your model, select everything and press W --> Remove Doubles. Then go down to the Modifier window and select Edgesplit and then hit apply. Fixes *most* shadowing issues.

It's actually pretty simple to do yourself!

First, mark the axis you want to rotate one of the fans about and make the object center on it. Then ad an empty to mark that location for later use.

Move the fan to the origin of the model and rotate it so that it would about the vertical axis. Do that in object mode. Then when you have the fan selected, press CTRL->A->1 and it will clear the rotations of the object without moving the mesh.

Add an empty at the fan's object center and parent the fan to the empty. Rotate the empty (the fan should move with it) and place it back into the original position the fan was in. Then simply apply a single rotation STA to the fan with a propeller animation.

You can then duplicate the empty and fan using ALT-D and move them to the other side of the aircraft to be the other fan.

This is actually a great topic for me to include in my blender book! Thanks for asking about it. If you have any other questions about it, take a look at my 757 or 787 to see how the empty and fan are oriented and shoot me a PM

That retro colour scheme on the BA 744 looks mad cool! Great job! But... why did you change the engines? BA has always used the RB 211s from the start on its 744s.

My general rant: I will call them blended winglets, not Sharklets; There is no CEO, it's just simply put, an Airbus 319/320/321, or the 320NEO, 321NEO etc. I didn't land IN DAL, I landed AT DAL. On the other hand, I did land in Dallas.
