do you mean along with the 8 big guns, or just the guass cannon alone?OfficerFlake wrote:I think a guass cannon coming out under the nose (a la A-10) would look sick on the F-15

Re: Dragonic Machine Industries.
i've also gotten the guns setup in the .dat file with 8000 rounds. i also had to set the firing rate to 0.04 to prevent players from buzzing through there ammo too fast. i'm off to the bomb range for testing in close air support and SEAD roles. but i feel this F-15 would be better as an air to air fighter.

Re: Dragonic Machine Industries.
but this also means that it flies at mach 1.2 at 1000 feet under full military power (SWEET!).
i have also reset the fuel consumption levels to more relealistic levels. and just for the fun of it, i have setup an external camera on the nose of the plane. it is setup so that the hud will display so players can fly and shoot from this angle.
that's all for now. my next post will have some screenshots of the XF-15ES in action.
later

Re: Dragonic Machine Industries.
here are the promised screenshots.
i added smoke generator nozzles to the rear of each cannon pair for a total of four smoke generators.
i've also place an external camera on the nose of the plane and made it display the hud.
i have plans to repaint this mod in at least two other colors. this of course depends on how crazy i want to go : .
i'm hoping to be able to release this mod before the end of the month but please don't quote me on that.
that's about it for now...oh wait!!
i just had an idea! how about some of you submit some color suggestions (along with any visual aids and RGB codes) and if i like what i see i'll include some of them in the pack. see ya later gators .

Re: Dragonic Machine Industries.
i have done five different paint jobs so far. i may do one or two more before i release them.
in other news, i have decided to do some testing of an "enhanced" De Havilland Comet. right now i have it as agile as i dare make an aircraft of it size and weight. the hardest thing will be adding weapons with out totally crapping all over the beauty of the aircraft. i have a few ideas for missile tubes, but it will be difficult for me to do them properly.
that's it for now. i will post more news when it happens.

Re: Dragonic Machine Industries.
i made a black (RGB code 101010) version of the XF-15ES. if it's too dark, tell me. in this repaint, i eliminated all other colors (with exception of the cockpit)including the gold/yellow paint on the muzzles of the cannons. i may use this as a base for a few more repaints. i also have to close up a few open seams in the mesh of the current models.
if i don't make any more repaints, i'll release these sometime next week.
that's it for now. see you all later .

Re: Dragonic Machine Industries.
Flake threw me off by saying " RGB Lum. 16, ideal 24.".
but i have repanted the fuselage as 1D1D1D. but i left the control surfaces and the landing gear doors as 101010.

i am going to try to do OfficerFlakes idea of mounting a gattling style cannon on the F-15D (again using oranleed's model minus the conformal tanks), but i am going to add my own twisted ideas to the mix . but the hardest part for me will be arranging the barrels in a circle. i plan to use eight barrels, but i may use 10 for dramatic effect.

Re: Dragonic Machine Industries.
here is a screenshot of the first stages of my new F-15D project. i decided to keep the missile hardpoints on the wings and brought over four of the tail hardpoints from the Hylian Defence Force project.
i used OfficerFlakes idea and i am working on the placements of three gatling style guns. one under the cockpit just in front of the nose gear an two in top, centered over the engine intakes. i decide to make the cannons with only six barrels instead of 8 or more. mostly because i couldn't figure out how to use more barrels and have them arranged in a circle and not a square .
the next things on my "to do list" is to work on the fuselage mountings and housings for the cannons and the barrel bands. i am trying to figure out how to make the barrel stablizing rings without bi-secting the barrels themselves.
i will also be making custom AIM9 and AIM120 skins for use with this project.

Re: Dragonic Machine Industries.
i had a bit of set back. i messed up when i arranged the barrels in a circle. they were mis-aligned, which looked crappy. and i am not releasing crappy mods. so i have to remake the barrels and i'm hoping that this tool can help: i made this hoping that it will help me align the barrels properly. but it will take some time to get everythig right.

Re: Dragonic Machine Industries.
now that i have finshed the work on the new F-15Es for the Grun Squadron, i am free to look for another aircraft to turn into an attacker. i'm looking through my collection of planes now and i hope to find something soon.
